    Mr Cool DIY mini split

That would be my concern as well. I guess you could put it in a flexible conduit and then be easier to replace them line if needed any the wall is finished. Dave Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

    Mr Cool DIY mini split

Looking as well to put a mini split. For any you who have done the install or professional installers. Is there any reason why the line set on the outside cannot be fed through a insulated stud cavity in wall and then come out where the connection to the compressor is or does it have to be on...

DIY spray foam, anyone tried it?

I just had a 2" closed cell applied to my gambrel loft above my garage. 1500 sq' x 2 ( for the 2".. Cost me $3000 cash. Almost no way i could to that with the off the shelf kits of Tigerfoam. Not to mention the mess and then cleanup. I noticed a 6C. lower temp right away on similar 32 C. days...

    Transporting a 80Gal Air Compressor?

A small trailer with a fold up gate was the easiest for my 80 gal. They wheeled it right on. I strapped it down. Off loading was also easy by my self. I backed the trailer close to where I needed it. Walked it down the ramp, then as mentioned with a 2 wheel dolly was able to position it where I...

    Ice damming issues

Getting a similar problem. In this case ,a gambrel (Barn)roof design on the south side. No problem on the north side what so ever. Where I did the flareout the snow accumulates. Same issue above. At this point the upper area(loft eventually living space) is unfinished so I can see some leakage...

    Removing surface rust?

I always use a fine steel wool and then clean and coat with "Dry Coat" . A spray on product that you let sit then wipe/ buff off. Great for wood working tools with steel surfaces, or anything else.

    building insulated, heated barn/garage

You can buy even at Costco, garage door insulating kits that attach to the inside of the panels. I'm sure they are easy to put on and then off in the spring when you don't need them. I'm sure other places have them as well.

    Real estate???

Especially if you are a first time buyer, try not to go on emotion. Excited yes but keep in control and always look at it as an investment. You will always get good return in the long run if you plan to stay for awhile. Quick flips are hard unless you have the skill and can do most of the work.

    Spray Foam ceiling or roof??

Like many contemplating the same for insulating my gambrel trusses. A different project just completed an addition on my house with 10" rafters. Building dept said if I use bat insulation must be the usual venting from the soffit to the ridge or roof with vapour barrier. If I used closed cell...

Short, fat, 60 gallon compressor tank ?

If your in Canada here's one. I'd be very surprised if there is something we can get but you can't south of the 49th and I'm sure at 1/2 the price http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/60-gallon-single-stage-super-hi-flo-low-profile-air-compressor/A-p8475006e Dave

Building first home and more importantly garage

That would probably be more in line. You don't want to cram a vehicle in there and can't even get around it to do basic stuff. I am just about to frame my 24' x 44' garage (2 bays on the end and 1 on the other side), 9' ceilings. One garage door was going to be 8' high x 9' wide and the others...

Building first home and more importantly garage

If you decide to go with a F250 you could be looking at 263" (just under 22') Crew cab with 8' box. Or 248" with a supercab and 8' box http://www.hannafords.ca/super-duty-central/super-duty-specifications.htm

    Sub Panel Grounding

Hey great, thanks for the reply. Does it have to be RW90 3AWG. Have only see 6 ga in green typical ground which is what I was going to get. What is the reason for not using bare, because it is in buried conduit? Using ground rods or similar at the sub panel would be bare correct. Thanks for all...

    Sub Panel Grounding

Hi new to the forum. First off this subpanel is located in Ontario Canada. I appreciate all the input from everyone in all the different areas, but of course code varies everywhere. This subpanel is in a detached garage about 80' away from 200 amp main panel which is grounded via water pipe...
