Floor Jack Guru's: Vintage Hein Werner?

One interesting thing from the page Paul posted earlier, the notes refer to the plunger assembly #7 sold all together with parts starting with #8 (plunger ring), 18, 26, 13, 40, 44, 45, 7, and the cylinder. Looking at the diagram maybe everything is embedded/inside #7 and they just aren't...

Did you use either o-ring? I do see #1 in the picture embedded in #2 (the top cap). I assume you change that. The other one I'm referring to is from: https://www.hcrcnow.com/PDFs/Blackhawk_1_25_1_5_67401_SJ1_67402_SJ2.pdf Now I'm not sure what the difference between these two jacks is, but...

Ok, only thing left are the two big o-rings. Looks like one is embedded in the tank but; but I can’t find the other one on the shaft. Not sure if it disintegrated (unlikely) or if it was rebuilt before and not used. Anyone have a description or picture of where the other one should be? Sent...

I actually tried that first. Didn’t work. Then I got the big screwdriver with the hex sides and wrench... Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Most of the ram cup is in a clump at the other side of the cylinder. But I get the idea of flushing to remove any tiny bits of residue. I’ll fill it with mineral spirits, shake it up and drain it. I have been using that parts sheet; and it didn’t say working valve, which is why I confirmed...

Also, which is the working valve? I'm going off the parts. Is it the valve with the big straight head screw?

The stringy thing is what I was referring to. Wouldn't that have come from someone removing the cylinder in the past? What would I clean with? I was only planning to replace the parts with what's in the kit. How do I get the pump off. Do I just remove the retaining ring and set the cap...

Floor Jack Guru's: Vintage Hein Werner?

Not that bad. Looks like the plunger ring/cup fell apart, but otherwise ok. There also appears to be something falling apart where the cylinder meets the body. I assume from your comment about the reservoir to the body means I need to take that off. Tips on unscrewing it without marking...

Oh, and I assume you welded it together?

Haha, looks like a similar job. What size 3/4" socket did you use. What did you torque it to?

Oh, and Paul, I do realize that was you on the other thread. :)

Holy moly there was a heck of a lot of torque on that tank nut! First I tried the trick Paul came up with in: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=232242&highlight=blackhawk But the pipe wrench kept coming off when I put enough torque on it, so I resorted to quickly welding up...

    Problem keeping a gate latched

I have those on my gates already. The problem is that if the hoop doesn't come down, by dog is smart/lucky enough to put his fore legs on top of the gate and pull it open.

    Problem keeping a gate latched

Thanks for the suggestions. I mucked around with what I have yesterday and figured that by putting in a thicker washer, it clears the wood on the post and doesn't get stuck. I did this when it was raining outside (with the wood being wet). We'll see how it lasts -- if it doesn't, I'll try...

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

Bendpak is in Southern California. Too far for me to drive and pickup. I'll try the shop in Hayward that was posted. They do have quite a few on their website and do installs, though they don't seem to carry Bendpak.

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

Anyone know of a good local place in the Bay Area that carries Bendpak? I went to get another one for my shop, but would prefer to find a local shop rather than deal with shipping. As several others have run into, I had to ship and swap the last time I bought one. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Problem keeping a gate latched

I have a gate in front of my house that uses a ring latch: https://www.natman.com/detail/v1132-small-ring-gate-latches-n197-129 I have a spring on the gate, and it always pulls the gate to the closed position, but the ring often doesn't fall when we have wet weather because the wood gets moist...
