Best way to heat 30x40 detached garage with 12 foot ceilings?

Sounds like we have a similar set up. Do you see any disadvantage to just getting the HDS125 ? Modine was saying I could go either way. If I open and close the bay doors a lot, they said the 125 may be the way to go. But, it slightly oversizing a bad idea? Right now there is ZERO...

Best way to heat 30x40 detached garage with 12 foot ceilings?

In speaking with Modine, they say either the HDS100 OR HDS125. They didn't think the larger heater had any disadvantage. Thoughts? Thanks.

Please advise me on heating my attached 2 car garage in New York

BTW, I ended up putting the Hot Dawg heater in and I love it. But, I don't even worry about heating the rec room. I just enjoy the heater for its intended use, heating the garage when I need it. Sorry for not updating much, much sooner.

Best way to heat 30x40 detached garage with 12 foot ceilings?

My detached garage is 3 bays, 30x40 with 12 foot ceilings with two 10 foot garage doors. It is not currently insulated, but that is in the future plan. I am thinking of getting a Modine Hot Dawg. I currently have a Modine H20 Hot Dawg in my attached garage that is insulated. I have it hung...

What do you suggest I coat the floor under my 2 post lift with - not ready to do whole floor yet

I will try call you guys tomorrow with a couple other follow up questions. But, at first, I want to purchase mostly just enough Ballistix to worry about under the lift posts. The rest of the job would get done in the spring. Could I just buy the pint or quart of ballistix and apply with a...

What do you suggest I coat the floor under my 2 post lift with - not ready to do whole floor yet

I took a look at a couple of threads about ballistix and this kind of sounds like what I am looking for. Is it possible to get a small amount to do under my lift posts and then do the whole garage next year. I am just North of you in lower NY. So, temps are no longer 70 degrees.

What do you suggest I coat the floor under my 2 post lift with - not ready to do whole floor yet

Hi, Let's sharpen this choice up. This garage will see a skid steer with dirty tires, it will see gasoline, oil, diesel, things will get dropped on it, it may get hot from heating up a piece of metal, I may hammer something on it. I am looking for something that will keep dust down, protect...

What do you suggest I coat the floor under my 2 post lift with - not ready to do whole floor yet

To give more info, at one point it was suggested to use Ghost Shield for this floor. I am looking for concrete protection, possibly a gloss look, but no need for color. Thanks.

What do you suggest I coat the floor under my 2 post lift with - not ready to do whole floor yet

I purchased a used Mohawk lift and I have repainted the bottom of the posts. The lift had mild scale and rust under the posts and now they are clean, smooth and painted. What do I coat the floor with? Once mounted, this part of the floor will not be seen for quite some time. I am looking to...

Mohawk lift fans- JUST bought a used 9k system 1a- could use some help

Dave, Thanks so much. They had told me one time who they used and I can't remember. I don't believe it was PPG, because I would have remembered that. But, I didn't think it was Rustoleum. Are you sure? Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Is Polyurea the best choice for my application?

I have about 550sqft. The garage is mostly for parking two cars and some light mechanic work. I wanted to skip the flake in the floor so that I could easily find any dropped parts. I was thinking of just light gray and then add the anti skid. I was leaning towards Nohr S. I kind of just...

Plotting tool rental to prep floor - buffer vs grinder -

Excellent points. Thanks. My issue is that the tool rental place wants $400 a day to rent the dyma-serts and I can buy them on line for $500 with the holders and wedges that go with them. I have to see what they want for the vacuum attachment. That certainly seems worth it.

Plotting tool rental to prep floor - buffer vs grinder -

OK. Great. Thank you. Now I just have to figure out which "Dyma-Serts" to use. In the link below, it shows different grades. Talking to Edco, sounds like it would be the 1x general purpose or the 2x medium matrix. Anybody have experience on which Dyma-Serts to use in the grinder? The...

Floor coating for an abused garage - no flake

This garage is going to be used and abused. It will have a skid steer in it, which could have muck on the tires, and a lift. There will be occasional welding. Plenty use of heat to remove stuck bolts. Plenty of grinding of rusted parts. It is 40x40. My thought is that clear would be the...

Plotting tool rental to prep floor - buffer vs grinder -

Ok, I will stick with the Edco sec 1.5L grinder. Now I just have to find where I can buy the diamond wheel for it.

Plotting tool rental to prep floor - buffer vs grinder -

I would like to apply a polyurea coating. I called a local tool rental shop and the grinder is $185/day for the machine, which is an edco sec-1.5L. I would then have to buy the tool to attach to it. Then I see this from Armorpoxy...

Nohr-S polyurea- is this the way to go for me?

Thanks guys. So, the Nohr-S is a 3 coat process? Could I decide on the flake once the job has started? What about the HD grip that they sell, will that disrupt the shine and hide some blemishes but make it possible to find small objects that fall on the floor? How does ghostshield compare to...
