    My Rust Bullet Tips

Here is a picture with the garage door open and a close up of the concrete surface I was dealing with. The lighter spots in the first pic are the pitted areas you see in the 2nd pic. Floor is about 16 years old and has never been resurfaced. This was after 3 coats. I bet it would eventually fill...

    My Rust Bullet Tips

I used a standard 9" wooster 3/8" nap roller and roller tray. When I started in the morning on the first coat the humidity was relatively high (close to 70%) and a temp of about 70. It was dry in about 3 hours. 2nd coat went on with humidity at about 60% and 80 degree temps. At the...

    My Rust Bullet Tips

Did my 2 car garage yesterday with Rust Bullet. Thought I would throw out a few tips to those about to take the plunge. 1. If you have done any floor prep grinding to remove a previous coating BUY AN EXTRA GALLON. I did a diamabrush grind to remove a previous sealant and boy did it soak up the...

    polyurethane vs polyaspartic?

I assume this is something you only plan on doing once so I'd go with the top of the line option.

Just finished garage floor grind job

Re: Need to find concrete floor grinding equipment. Never thought of trying the Edco as the Clarke did a pretty good job. The existing coating was pretty thin and already flaking off. Maybe someone else who has experience with both can chime in?

Just finished garage floor grind job

Re: Need to find concrete floor grinding equipment. I got both from Home Depot. I bought an HF angle grinder and diamond turbo cup wheel for the edges. Be extremely careful with this since if you don't lay it flat it will dig into the floor quickly.

DIY epoxy on a professionally prep'd floor?

The prep is where most of the time/labor comes in. It's also the most important part and could ruin your epoxy install if its not a quality job from the contractor. If you're going to have them do the entire job make sure they are using quality epoxy and not just going to home depot and...

Anyone know the manufacturer of this drill?

Looks a little bit like my dad's 30 year old craftsman.

Basic Rust Bullet Floor Project -- No garage snobs allowed :-)

Do you think most of the odor came through the interior door? I was going to tape off both the inside and outside around the door frame to try and prevent my house from stinking.

Questions before my clear coat epoxy

Did you use a primer? There was another thread on here I think about outgassing that was caused by lack of primer. Something like the air in the concrete pours getting trapped in the epoxy (because its thicker) vs being able to pass through the thin primer. For the roller marks I'd google...

Leave garage door open or closed when coating floor?

Thanks for the info Justin. I don't have any garage door windows so I'll probably just leave the garage door cracked. Will need to do that anyway since my slab extends about 6 inches outside my door (don't want a line where the door closes). My goal is to get two coats down in a day possibly 3...

Leave garage door open or closed when coating floor?

Just got my Rust Bullet in today. For you guys that have done a floor coating in your garage (RB, epoxy, etc..) have you left the garage door open or closed during the dry time? I feel like opening it would help it dry faster but risk stuff blowing in and sticking. Maybe I should disconnect the...

Best wood cutting tool to buy first

Plenty of places/extension cords for me to use on the outside so will most likely be going corded. Can also do it inside my garage. What would you guys recommend to use as a work surface for clamping things down?

Best wood cutting tool to buy first

Thanks for advice. I generally pick up tools as I need them to do a job then keep them for the long haul (for non-hobby tools). Will probably just start with the circular saw since it will fit my immediate need for what I plan on doing. If I start another project later on that would be better...

Best wood cutting tool to buy first

Just moved into a new house. I don't own alot of tools but I'm slowly buying as needed. I plan on doing some wood cutting for things like siding repair (fiber cement) and landscaping timber that needs to be redone. What kind of saw would be best for those uses? Table, Mitre, Circular, etc.... I...

Leaning towards Rust Bullet. Have you used it?

I had the same thing and chose to grind it at Justin's recommendation. If I sprayed water on top before it would pool up and not penetrate. I was told the RB needs to be able to penetrate into the surface to get the best adhesion on a concrete floor. It really wasn't that difficult with the...

Leaning towards Rust Bullet. Have you used it?

I have 3 gallons on order for my 400 sq ft garage. I will post pics/impressions after I get it down. Still got a little more prep work to do so probably won't be for a few weeks.

It can get pretty close, within an inch. Leaves behind a few inches in the corners though.

Wire outlets inside walls or outside

What would you guys recommend tool wise for drilling through the studs? Good corded drill and auger bits?

Wire outlets inside walls or outside

I like the idea of being able to easily add with the conduit. I think I could make it looks pretty decent too by running it down across the brick at the bottom and painting everything white.
