    Advice on polishing

    I use the 3m Convolute Deburring Wheels on a bench grinder to polish out machining marks on aluminum and brass. They are expensive but work very well.

    Those using ATF in their lifts

    of the seven lifts in our shop, all of which uses ATF, one does smell when lowering the vehicle. While the smell is sometimes bad, it is no where as bad as the body builder tech beside me farting out his muscle milk and power bars.

    noob sorta floor pan question

    Of course it makes a difference. However, I've found that the thinner sheet metal eats disc faster no matter the brand. What works for me is to torch out the large sections first, so that my old decrepit *** can get in and drill spot-welds, or clean up edges with grinder.

    20 gal Parts washer, new to me, What goes in it.

    Don't waste your money on varsol or any other high priced solvents. Since a child on the farm we always used kerosene with a splash of diesel or ATF to keep from drying out the skin. I use the same today in my parts washer. when its used up, throw it in the woodstove.

    Cost of Block

    I'm in Southeastern Virginia. Getting ready to build new home and shop. Block here is $1.59 and labor is $2.25. I've tried to get a little better deal on the the labor, they will not budge. I'll wait untill winter when they are starving. Barlow
