Yeah this is what I think as well. I guess there's a couple things available, but literally zero combination / needle nose pliers or cutters, which is what I was hoping to pick up.

Can one of you guys thats understands the Sears thing explain to me why literally every single Knipex product they have is "temporarily unavailable"? Is this their way of not selling these products when they have a sale going on?

This is sweet. I have some electrical work to do soon, so I picked up their 12 piece insulated set. I am not sure how long ago I last bought something there, but I had redeemable points with Sears so I ended up at $47 OOP + the 30 dollars back. Not too bad. I had no idea you could get deals...

You can order these through Homak now, for not much more than NAPA. NAPA is probably a better deal with their 5% back in NAPA bucks (or whatever its called), but its not a lot after you pay tax.

I totally understand. I wouldn't feel comfortable asking another forum member for a favor at this point, but hopefully as I stick around that could turn out to be an option. I'll keep an eye out and let you guys know if I see anything.

Yep! Thanks for responding. The vise looks like this (from the craftsman vise thread) and is stamped made in Japan - but is stamped 391-5197 on the side. It is not stamped like the old heritage stamps I see in this thread, but rather a big stamp on this side. Vise in question: So, out...

Doing more research, this vise looks like a 5193c from the 70's. I'm confused as it clearly has 5197 stamped on the side. Sorry if I sidetracked the thread with my lack of knowledge, lol!

Thanks all, I always wondered if they were reveared because they stopped making them in the US soon after. I have the smooth, tear drop handle ones. They seem decent to me, but I yearn for a higher tooth count lol.

Hey guys, Theres a local 391-5197 for sale, but its a newer model than what this thread pertains to. From what I can tell from the other Craftsman Vise thread on here, it looks like the "Machinists Vise" from the mid 70's. Is there another thread for these models, or are they less sought...
