Question about hose size requirement for impacts

This isn't supposed to be in the classifieds. Sorry.

Question about hose size requirement for impacts

there's a check valve then a reducer on it. The tank can go to 300psi and it's one of those upright 60 gallon ones. (EDIT: It's larger, but I'm pretty sure it can't do 300psi. I think it's rated for 175) It's just that the hose and reel we have are for 3/8. We even have a 1/2 hose, but it's not...

Question about hose size requirement for impacts

We've got an Ingersoll-Rand 2141 Impact. It's a 3/4 drive that's supposed to run at 90psi w/ a 1/2inch hose. Everything else we've got is 3/8, so I was wondering, is it alright to run the impact at the same relative air velocity/mass (I don't know what it's called for impacts. cubic feet/minute...

    Name that fastener!

I might be making a fundamental error, but I'm pretty sure you pull on the free end, then tighten the screw down, locking it in place. How did you get it off without letting the screw out?

FYI: Sears sale - 299 socket set

It's a slippery slope, please don't push me  EDIT: I have too many posts in this thread, so I'm just going to add on to this one. My bing cashback is pending, so feel free to use the sears5off50 code. I also used the http://www.keycode.com/Sears_com/?cat=999 for $35 off and free shipping...

FYI: Sears sale - 299 socket set

I might. I don't need both 6pt and 12pt of each size... And I just got this for about $290 if cashback works. Sears asked to send an email to bing for it, so hopefully it works :). (The total before was 334.29 with $47something in cashback)

Looks like I'm gonna get a set for $290 shipped :)

FYI: Sears sale - 299 socket set

Is it possible to use Bing cashback with keycode.com's $35 off? EDIT: I see it conflicts with it's terms of use. If bing fails, the difference would be just over $10. But, you can use sears5off50 code, so the loss would be a bit under $10...

What Vice Grips (Locking Pliers) to Buy?

A friendly statement is met with another. Someone who is resentful to anyone's opinion that is not in line with their own tends to feel the need to subject their opinion on everyone else. In doing so, they only alienate themselves and are met with hostility. Social Dynamics 101.

What Vice Grips (Locking Pliers) to Buy?

Peterson or the older Irwin are the best... Rule of thumb: if it's got a hex key hole on the back of the screw, avoid it.

One Of The Many Reasons I HATE Vise-Grips

Not all of us have jobs constrained to the shop. Out here, everyone working on a farm has at least one pair on them at all times. On the farm, they're a necessity. Not having one on you means you're ill-equipped. Say you're in the field and you need to tighten down a fastener. You can drive x...

Do they let you have pinup shots on your toolbox at work?

All the farm implement shops have them around here. I remember when I was a kid going to tractor safety school via 4-H, we would have class at a different shop each week. Us kids would walk around and try to find the calenders, which were on the toolboxes, hidden from where we sat

    Bunch of Ratchets & Breakers

Are the breakers bent, or is it just linear distortion on the camera's part?

    Portable Air Conditioner. Suggestions?

Those units look tough! I'd like to get one of them, if swamp cooling is doable in central Illinois humidity... That sounds like a unit I'll have to look into. I think I might give up on finding a quiet one and just find a good one to run when it's ungodly hot outside. Thanks for the info...

    I was robbed!!!

We got some stuff taken from our farm over by Vandalia within the last month... And when I was younger, some guys put our tractor up on blocks, stealing the front and back wheels... and we even had duals on the back.

    Craftsman Sockets Pro vs Regular

Watch out for those large label sockets. The chrome peels off of them badly. The engraved sockets are the best way to go.

    What do i do???

Could you use a partially threaded bolt, put a nut on it and hacksaw it down to size? It might not look pretty, but looks aren't everything when it comes to a tool ;) EDIT: A grinder would be good for making the articulating part squareish..

Please Folks: Don't Drink the Tool Board Kool-Aid

I know, I know. I'm going to tool hell for not being monogamous, but being faithful to just one isn't in my nature. Honestly, I just like that they organize tools so well and look better than just taking a marker to a pegboard. But, maybe if I have free time after college, I'll start filling...

Please Folks: Don't Drink the Tool Board Kool-Aid

Do you have any boards with pegs for sockets? That's one board that's absent in the set I got..

Please Folks: Don't Drink the Tool Board Kool-Aid

I don't know if we'll fill them up with crescent, necessarily. We're going to hang them in the shop and hopefully fill them up with good tools (channellock adjustables, various snap on and matco). If they don't work well for that, I'll end up hanging up some pegboard beside them and maybe I'll...
