The new 60W equivalent bulbs use 11 watts but the old version currently on sale consumes 9.5 watts.

Just to be clear this was in store only. A HD rep said they were clearing out Cree for their Ecosmart house brand. I replied that this is sad since this one of the only US made bulb on the market today. I don't buy that they are kicking Cree to the curb at this point but who knows.

Just was at Home Depot in Totowa, NJ and they had Cree 6 packs of their 60W equivalent bulbs for $24.
