Finally my 30x40 garage is going to happen

Hi NHB! Looks like you're off to a good start...now that the lumber is there it should go pretty quick if you get decent weather....do you have a completion date for getting it "in the dry"? I like your idea of putting the overhead doors on the long side...i think that's a better use of the...

    My 30'x40' in Oklahoma

Thanks for the offer (is it still considered an offer if I invited myself? :dunno:). I don't have any immediate plans, but will drop you a line if something comes up. In the mean time, more pics of the cars (especially the Tiger) and the race track would be great! Thanks for sharing your...

Thanks crazytrain! I appreciate the comments and glad you enjoyed the read. It's been a long journey back, but I think the shop is better for it in the end.... And since you asked....The theme lately has been fixing the several unfinished spots remaining in the shop. Next up on the list was...

    30X40X12 - After Fire Rebuild

Thanks Shopnut! It's no Asylum library ladder rack, but I did think of that (and your ladder incident) as I was hauling that rail up the ladder to mount it. It was uneventful though...I mounted the middle bracket first into a predrilled hole, so it was well balanced and went pretty smooth...

Thanks Lee....It's been quite a journey since the fire. A lot of work, but beginning to reap some rewards....and enjoying the ride to boot. I just noticed the pic in your avatar is a house on fire....I'll have to go back a little deeper in your thread for the story on that?

    Tiny *** garage

Hi Lee -- Looks like great progress. You did a good job laying out your work station. It looks like it will be easy to clean with all the melamine surfaces. Nice work on the clamp rack too! Keep us updated on the DC project. I keep going back and forth on a DC system, or keeping stuff on...

    My 30'x40' in Oklahoma

Hi Andy -- Great looking shop! I go through Edmond several times a year on my way to Guthrie for work. I might have to stop in and see that Tiger and that shop in person if you're open to vistors. I'd like to hear / see more about the Tiger if you've got any more pics or stories about it...

    30X40X12 - After Fire Rebuild

The workbench is currently awaiting the metal top...a small delay, but should be this week sometime. I had some good shop time this weekend and with the workbench on hold, I decided to tackle another of the remaining eyesores :eyecrazy: : It's time to cover that access hole to the upper...

Thanks re1. Cool pic in your avatar. Do you have a thread on that garage on here? I came across a early 60s Chevrolet tailgate on the farm that I thought would make cool "garage art".

    30X40X12 - After Fire Rebuild

I finished the face frames for the workbench cabinets and the trim, so it was time to unload and get them ready for paint and stain. Started out like this: All unloaded: Closeups of some of the trim: And some stain: I'm planning on paint for the rest of the bare wood walls. I...

    30X40X12 - After Fire Rebuild

Quick garage project....My daily driver is a 2004 Suburban pushing 200k miles. It's been a great truck and after a recent detour through the pasture to check on a calf, I found myself without fog lights...Busted lenses and no lights: I got an email from RockAuto last week listing items they...
