Favorite split ring pliers for transmissions

I'm trying to take apart a '62 Buick 3-speed manual trans. I think 2 of the snap rings were broken and re-used by the last guy who was in this thing. My Toptul snap ring pliers won't work on the last broken ring because the gap is just a bit too wide. I'm wondering if you guys know of a...

    Graphic Multimeter

If you want a Fluke, it's an 867-B, but they don't make them anymore, so you'll have to get a used one. I bought a used Fluke Scopemeter, model 98, series 2 from aeswave.com, and am very happy with it. These are also out of production. I believe the Snap-on Vantage is a graphing multimeter.

Beta tools in USA, ProCare USA.

Those 1-piece hex bits look good to me - it drives me crazy when a bit pulls out of those c-man spring-loaded sockets.

Beta tools in USA, ProCare USA.

I've bought a number of tools on Amazon - my wife said it's a pretty safe way of doing business. You can compare prices and ratings of all the sellers. You'll save a good bit of money there.

tool box or tool bag ???

How about a tote? I just ordered a CLC 1579 20inch model for school. I have 2 of the Craftsman totes and they are very handy. I take about 90 pounds of tools to the shop every week and have gotten rid of my small boxes in favor of the totes.

Just realized this is an older thread which I had already posted to - but she's still really smooth looking!

    Walker # 798 Transmission Jack..

I think my Walker jack was solid blue when I bought it new back in '63. My Lincoln jack has the yellow accents.

    Hein Warner Floor Jack

I paid $175 to have my Walker J-883 rebuilt by a hydraulic shop in Alexandria, VA. It's a Hein-Warner 1 1/4 ton jack with Walker's name on it. These jacks were originally named O'Boy before being named H-W.

    Walker # 798 Transmission Jack..

I bid up around $200 on one similar to that one on ebay about 18 months ago. Somebody else bid even more right at the end but I don't remember how much. Those are nice because there are no hydraulics to worry about. I used to work at a place that sold them.

My sister lives down there in Ballwin, but I've never been to her place. She likes it down there.

    stubby line wrench?

From the lack of response, I'm guessing that all of the working techs are out enjoying the break in the weather we're having, at least here on the east coast!

Would a crow's foot line wrench fit in there?

    Hose Gripping Pliers

I bought the Toptul version for about $40 plus shipping from Mike. They're 11 inches, but are not double-jointed like the GW models. They make life easier.

    Toptul Reviews

I used my new DFAF-1211 Long Hose Gripper Pliers for the first time this past Friday in brakes class at school - they sure make life easier. If you're interested, they're listed in the Auto Tools section. They come in 3 sizes - the big one was perfect for removing and installing the booster hose.
