    How many pilots out there?

Then I say go for it. There is nothing like controlling an airplane on your own. It is alot of work (and money) but it is worth it. Go down to your local airport and find yourself a flight instructor. I would recommend someone older. Nothing against younger guys, but most of them are only...

My Build: Simply a Mr. Jack Olsen inspired 1930 Auto Bunker House Geobarn Homage

Shaun, No UPS. I'm flying for ANA in Japan. Spend 20 days in Asia and 10 days at home each month. Going home this Sunday and have a list a mile long of home improvements that need to be taken care of. Doesn't leave much time for the garage. Jeremy

My Build: Simply a Mr. Jack Olsen inspired 1930 Auto Bunker House Geobarn Homage

Shaun, That is looking great. As a fellow NoKy person and pilot, it is great to see a beautiful build like that going up close by. It has given me something to pass the time while sitting in the hotel here in Bangkok. Keep up the good work and keep posting pics. Jeremy

    384 square feet!

That is a small size. The main thing that came to mind is to put large dormers on either side of the peak. this will give you some extra storage in the attic or give you some extra headroom for your lift if you don't have an attic. Jeremy

    How many pilots out there?

I have a U.S. ATP license and a Japanese ATP license. Started out instructing at a school in Florida, then to the regionals on the CRJ, then to a fractional flying the Citation X, then overseas to ANA flying the 767-300ER. I love this job but hate the distance from the family. Just had my 10...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Thomas and Chris, Well, I just started reading this thread today on my layover in Hong Kong and made it up to page 62. I have to stop there to get some sleep for the flight back to Narita in the morning. I also fly the 767 although it is over here in Japan. So even though I am from Illinois...

ID this car for me please

I also agree. If you look at the interior shot of the passenger door you will see that the placement of the door handle and window crank are in the same place. That to me says it all.

    Crazy/Stupid things you have seen

What we were told by the mechanic was that it took an oil sensor line off when the cowl came off.

    what to do

What difference does it make if he knows anything about cars if he is putting beer in the fridge? A friend who brings beer is a good friend. Seriously, as long as you two get along who cares. Just be glad to have a friend you can hang out with.

    Crazy/Stupid things you have seen

Well, craziest thing I have had in my work was part of an engine cowling came off due to metal fatigue. We were flying OKC to CVG passing through 12000 feet when we had a loud bang and the oil pressure went to zero. I figured the engine had let go so I called for the engine shutdown...

    Cabs, Control Rooms, and Cockpits

Here is one that I used to fly. It is the Citation X. Flew it from 2008-2010. Great plane to fly. Pain to land smoothly though. The second one is a close up of the PFD (Primary Flight Display) showing us cruising at .901 Mach at 41000 feet.:bounce:

    Heat/AC for a 40'x60' garage???

Do a google search using those terms "heat gain and loss calculation" and you will come up with many links. (I didn't know what it was either so had to google it) Looks like it will come in handy as I'm pricing out building a new house and a 40x60 pole barn as well.

    Garage Door Security

My family is what is important in my home. We never had an alarm system or cameras until this spring. A lady my wife knows started making threats towards her and actually sent some guys over to scare her one day. The next day my car that was parked outside got t-boned in my driveway. Had the...

    Garage / Home Secuity Cameras

I have the Night Owl system with 8 cameras and the 500GB DVR. I'm currently over in Japan so it has been nice to watch the cameras on the computer here and see the family out working or swimming in the pool. Lets me see what they are up to. We've been happy with the system. It isn't the...

I'm a ReStore volunteer, and it pays.

I haven't had the chance to volunteer at our local store but they do have good deals there. My wife and I both love to go there almost weekly (when I am home) to see what is new.

    Innovative Space Saver!

I don't know why anyone would think it is fake. They have those types of parking garages all over the place here in Japan. They go 4 or 5 high on some of them.

best way to repair above ground pool

My thought is to put the sheetmetal on the inside. This way you have the weight of the water pushing against it to help hold it in place. The drawback to this is you need to be absolutely sure that there is no sharp edges to compromise the liner. Your best bet is to buy a new panel to go...
