It’s a really poor and inefficient format and the photos end up getting lost to time…my way, you know what is being discussed and who made it.

@Ryan Please see above posts. Can we please implement for this thread 1) Photo 2) Manufacturer 3) What kind of tool it is / what it does 4) Part number Thank you in advance. I think this would help many members and is a more useful format.

    Tools from the old world

I believe made by Bost, a French manufacturer. I have a nearly identical set that came in my Facom Expert / Mac tool general tool kit. These are great screwdrivers and very comfortable in the hand! ETA: https://www.laissey.com/Ses%20entreprises/Bost/Bost.htm

    Tools of Japan

I think PB Swiss makes the prettiest drivers. However, the Vessel is the more useable of the two, and at a better price point. I think Japanese production tolerances and quality control surpass the Americans and the EU manufacturers, note that Switzerland is not in the EU, so they are excluded...

I have one and like it a lot. It isn’t an ultra fine mechanism, but it feels great in the hand.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Not a fan of hide glue, especially the aroma. I think there are modern adhesives that surpass hide glue that have superior working properties.

Congratulations, Mike. Also, great job on the fire extinguishers. Having been party to two machine shop fires (both involving lathes and turning exotic alloys based on Magnesium and Titanium), having the safety equipment is essential. His includes the right type of fire extinguisher……...

1/2" Impact Sockets: Sunex vs Tekton vs Capri?

There seems to be a new trend for automotive and industrial workers, that they are skipping chrome sockets entirely and only working with impacts- and using them with hand operated (not electric) ratchets. This could potentially save young technicians and workers ~ 50% of tool acquisition...

1/2" Impact Sockets: Sunex vs Tekton vs Capri?

No disagreement. That said, overall, Taiwan is vastly superior manufacturing quality to what I see from China- more often than not.

You know tools well and you sold Taiwanese tools from a great company. I am so surprised you would post this.

1/2" Impact Sockets: Sunex vs Tekton vs Capri?

While the Chinese can and do produce some great quality products, I see much more precision and attention to detail with Taiwanese produced products over those coming from China.

I never liked SKs ratchets (only used the old US made versions). I do own their new ratcheting combo wrenches and the long reach pliers. Both are very nice and made in China. I would prefer Taiwan for COO, but China CAN and DOES make some quality product.
