    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

~ 20 years ago, Prestone (maybe Peak) (iirc) sold a quality, pink windshield washing fluid that I really liked. All good things come to an end, and I have not seen it since. I have been using the blue Supertech from Walmart without issue. Walmart has extremely aggressive corporate...

My opinion is it has to do with persons using garden hose water - rather than distilled water - in the windscreen washer reservoirs and this causes buildup over time (calcium deposits, etc).

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

If you talk to @Dave455 , he will tell you that the Hazet ratchets have the least amount of wobble / deflection in most cases. This can be a double-edged sword.

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

Craftsman should have done this a decade ago. Facom / USAG was way ahead of the curve on the usefulness of the portable kits in durable cases.

    Ideas for hard handle screwdrivers

Glue them back on with epoxy. Need to clean the area as described above (I would use Isopropanol), scuff the area, clean again, and then use epoxy adhesive.

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

You are one of the best members and most helpful on GJ, so I wanted to take a moment to gather my thoughts, as what you have thought about also crossed my mind. 1) Dropped off a work bench onto a concrete floor, the Icon bit ratchet box survived the drop. However, it did jostle the contents...

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

I will try the bounce test for you today. The Icon bit ratchet kit is a must own tool and within the top 5 most used tools that I own. I prefer it now to the Facom / USAG equivalent, and it is a fraction of the cost. I believe all are made in the same facility in Taiwan.

    Tools from the old world

The Czechs make beautiful products. Today, on par with the best of Switzerland. I dare say it. It is no wonder the Germans and Soviets lusted after this industrially productive and innovative nation.

    What if….

I agree with Fedwrench. GW is a Taiwan manufacturer for ratchets. I believe some current tools also are made in China.

1/2 ratchets, flex head, snap on/gearwrench etc?

I agree with your thinking. As far as the 120XP, I feel the mechanism is “too fine”. The 84T / 90T feels ideal to me. The 120XP mechanism feels delicate. I have not broken one. My preferred GW is the 90T with comfort grip/soft handle. Locking flex head. I say this while owning many high end...

1/2 ratchets, flex head, snap on/gearwrench etc?

I greatly prefer the 90T and 84T options from GW over the 120T product.

In my opinion, my best advice to you is you need to start to learn what things cost, realize that if you are in the U.S. or Europe, it is a free market, and adopt the mindset that you can vote with your dollars and will spend them where you receive the best value in return. The goal for you...
