    Dehumidifiers???

I have 2 Oasis units, one in the basement and one in the garage. Basement unit was bought new in the mid-late 1970's and still runs perfectly. These are tough units. No digital controls, no mother boards. Anything I've ever gotten as a garage unit (Sears, LG, Kenmore) just crapped out as...

Propane Generator users, a moment please?

While there can be many sources of the erratic running issue, I recently had a similar one on my gas pressure washer. Ran fine for hours, after a long storage spell, then started coughing, sputtering, then quit. Restarting was erratic, then same issues, then wouldn't start. Going back to the...

12' Span between Trusses. How to Prepare for Drywall?

Yep, that's what I did. I air stapled 3/4" spacers at the top of the 2x6 purlins, added the 4" of insulation, and stapled 3/4" spacers against the insulation at the bottom of the purlins in case the insulation worked loose. I tried the power saw route, with the blade backwards, still messy...

12' Span between Trusses. How to Prepare for Drywall?

You mentioned it gets hot in there. Something to consider: I have a similar configuration. 26'w x 24d', with multiple trusses at each end plus in the middle. I wanted a clear span over each bay for future lifts. Engineer designed to accommodate. The nearly 12' gap will easily handle any...

    Every two years dead dehumidifier

I have 2 Oasis D165HG. One is almost 40 years old, has never missed a beat. The other about 10 years, also flawless. The model number may not be correct on the oldest one, but they are the same units. You will pay more, they are rarely discounted, but you won't be disappointed. No digital...

    HF Chainsaw Recall

Mine has worked without issue, and more than paid for itself. Local HF still hasn't gotten the replacements in. Has anyone had success yet in exchanging theirs?

Harbor Freight 44" roller cabinets discontinuing?

Resurrecting thread for those looking for old stock. Sebring, FL HF has one Series 1 bottom 44" box in the "markdown section" for $319.99 and one side locker for $239.99. Not a monster saving, but if anyone is looking and semi local, there you go.

HF 18" Side Cabinet No More??

With a new depth of 22", are there any indications there will be a new 7 (or whatever) drawer side cabinet with the same depth? Would hate to rush to pick up the outgoing, current 18" for my 56" bottom box only to find later a new, deeper side cabinet is available.

Any drawbacks from putting workbench on casters?

I put small fixed casters on the outside of the two legs on one end of the bench, with the wheels just missing the floor. On the other end of the bench, mounted low enough to tip the bench at a good angle, I mounted a wooden clothes rod as a "handle". When I want to move the bench, I just...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

On the 56" roller bottom tool box: I've had mine for 6 years and have no real complaints (I don't actually move it around). It's more than stout enough for the use I give it and haven't had any issues with it. I wish some of the deeper, lower drawers were shallower so an extra shallow...

Please comment on my proposed Air Outlet setup

I also use a shut off valve at each coupling outlet. You never know if you'll need one there until you don't have one.

Anyone have a good DIY workbench link?

This could easily turn into another, long, workbench thread, but since there have been SO many good ideas on the site to date, sharing those that have really worked well is worth a repeat I think. For me, the benches described in the link below (which has the actual plans in a link within the...

    Bendpak HD-7 vs HD-7W?

I didn't know the about the full rating only at the ends of the rails. Where did you find those specs? Also, mind sharing what lift you went with? I also have a Suburban and I haven't settled on what lift will best work out. Viz

    Pressure washer troubleshooting

Not sure exactly where I read this, but some Generac owners reported a similar problem in that the motor would die repeatedly and the work around (since Generac hadn't provided a true fix) was to loosen the fuel filler cap. That might not be your problem, since you also said you couldn't pull...

    Pressure washer question?

That PW generally has good reviews, but some folks reported it would periodically shut down. Several said they loosened the fuel cap, restarted and that seems to keep it running. Last reviews I saw said Generac had not issued a TSB or released a "fix". YMMV
