    Overseas Jack Rebuild Help Tutorial.

jlabelrecord said: Ok I understand now, Thank you!! And so the second question if you don't mind is the screw for the "working" valve won't sit flush like it did when I took it off so I'm getting some seepage through there, and when I raise the jack it holds but won't go back down My response...

    Hein-werner WS model questions

I’m not aware of anybody that sells that Neoprene boot, Might have to scour someplace like McMaster Carr in an attempt to find a suitable replacement.

    Overseas Jack Rebuild Help Tutorial.

The stem during operation will always move up and down following operation of the gear. Where the problem lies, is the a lot of time when people reinstall the gear assembly, the outer portion never bottoms out and secures the washer. When this happens you need to keep raising the stem, while...

    Overseas Jack Rebuild Help Tutorial.

The release assembly is compromised to two parts, the outer portion that has a Hex that threads into the block and then the stem that is connected to the gear. If the washer isn’t secured by by the outer hex portion the stem won’t go up and down to allow the jack to operate correctly, thus the...

    Overseas Jack Rebuild Help Tutorial.

The washer needs to be seated in place by the Release threaded portion, if not, it will just simply spin and not allow the release stem to lower and raise when the gear is rotated. The most common issue people have when reinstalling the release assembly is that the stem bottoms out before the...

Vintage 70s Sears Floor Jack New in Box

I’d have to look, I believe mine were blue, but that’s a manufacturer thing. I bought my poly seals in bulk from MFP.

Vintage 70s Sears Floor Jack New in Box

It’s not necessarily the Seals age working against the OP, albeit you are pushing the limits on your Jack even with occasional use. When seals sit in the compressed stage, with No movement to keep them pliable etc.. they tend to harden prematurely. The Orings will flat spot to the mating...

Vintage 70s Sears Floor Jack New in Box

Just for clarity, And I’ve covered this numerous times here at GJ on Why the Japanese and Early Taiwan Yasui based jacks are such good units. 1. Heavy plating the on the Ram/Pump piston. 2. Wipers on both 3. Bigger cross sectioned Orings versus the later chines counterparts. 4. The Ram...

Vintage 70s Sears Floor Jack New in Box

FYI, It might fail prematurely or right out of the box literally. I can almost guarantee the seals have hardened from sitting that length of time. It’s pretty though…

    Amazon Homes?

My Last house was a Sears house, My neighbors house was identical in floor plan, He also claimed it was a Sears house. It wasn’t until I pulled door hardware and visited the attic and seen the codes on the rafters till it was verified. I later found that we had quite a few Sears houses in the...

    Old Floor Jack

I feel based of the picture that the frame is too long to be a SJ-3, I believe it’s a SJ-4. A quick call to Hydraulic Parts Supply in sawyer, Kansas and they should be able to distinguish based off some measurements.

Why does Snap-On continuously make people rage?

I think a lot of it has to do with how people shop nowadays, the majority of people whether you are buying a Washer and Dryer or a set of tires will put some google time in reading reviews in a attempt to convince themselves that Brand X is correct choice. In other words, I watched 27 YouTube...

    Vintage Snap On ratcheting adapter?

I was hitting up some antique shops today and ran across this piece, it was marked as “3/4” Snap on”, but it’s clearly 1/2 on both ends. I know based off the script it’s early, and I’ve seen the #6 plenty of times, but the ones I’ve seen have a reduced collar on the female end. The only markings...

    Another old Sears Jack

Not really, It’s designed to give maximum stroke when deep under a vehicle, not today’s vehicles with pinch welds/outer lift points.

Best way to fill a Hein Werner 1.5 ton jack?

The best way is to drain it, Add 8oz. It can be filled with the lift arm down, jack on all four wheels similar to rear end, but you almost have to overfill it and let the excess drain account the fill port is so narrow it doesn’t play well with two way traffic.
