    Floor options for shop?

Can the densifiers/sealers be used over the acid stains?

My First Garage: Suburban 3 Car Tandem

Kyle, Any chance you can ballpark the cost on raising the garage door? I'll need to do the same thing, and haven't gotten a quote, yet. Trying to determine what it will add to my budget. -Jon

Kyle, I'm leaning heavily toward the acid staining, which might be what was done for the grey floor. LLC Flooring on here offers a ton of great products, and I'd check them out. I'm fairly certain that the first floor is an epoxy with color chips added. This is one pattern that I really like:

If you can afford it, do option 2, now. No doubt. For the extra $600, you won't regret it. It's going to cost me a chunk of change, but I'm doing my best to get my garage done the way I want it, before I move in. Doing projects a second time, or the first time, after already moving in just *****.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that the dirty blonde would make a great addition, too. Not sure the fiancee will approve of that, though. ;)

You might have me beat by a couple of months, so I'll be keeping an eye on our build, too.

We're definitely headed down similar paths. On the flooring front, it sounds like you do a decent amount of metal work and welding. With that in mind, you might want to consider going with porcelain tile over the other options, as Racedeck and epoxy floors will burn, from what I've heard (no...

Scored a deal on 7 new Hampton Bay wall cabinets in satin white off the local Craigslist. They should be a perfect fit for above the toolbox. I'm hoping that this will meet my covered storage needs, as the 10 ft. ceilings should afford me plenty of space for high shelves.

National Auto Tools Triumph C 7000

$2150+tax is what I paid. Not sure if they'll honor it for everyone, but for $150 more than the discount price for that other lift, I'm very happy.

Thanks! The house actually has quite a bit of space at 3100 sq. ft. If I had my way, I'd have a 1000 sq. ft. house and a 3000 sq. ft. garage, but my fiancee wasn't up for that. ;)

Thanks! The lift will give me plenty of fun stuff to do, now that shoveling isn't on my todo list. ;) M5 needs a new guibo, and the Porsche has a new suspension waiting to be installed.

This thread will be a slow reveal for a while, as the house is still under construction, but the lift has been ordered. I went with the Triumph C-7000 as it sounded like a much sturdier unit than the MaxJax, and I was able to get a great deal on it from NAT. Sheetrock is also up in the house...

Just called NAT, and they gave me a nice discount for mentioning Garage Journal. If you're interested, I suggest you do the same. Can't wait to get it installed!

Since this thread is more active than the last Group Buy thread that was closed, I'm curious to know if we could get another Group Buy going on these. I had been considering the MaxJax, but this is clearly the superior setup. Does anyone have any connections at NAT or is there enough interest?

    MaxJax Group Buy

Just read through the previous page of this thread, and it sounds like the GJ hookup for MaxJax group buys is no longer there. We might be SOL.

    MaxJax Group Buy

I'm interested, if there's another group buy in the works. Beerly, I'm assuming that you already sold yours, but if you didn't, please let me know. Thanks, Jon

I'm planning on going with epoxy. Something like this, but with black tool boxes: I love this, too, but the floor is too dark: I need to be able to find all the nuts and bolts that I inevitably drop. -Jon

Thanks! I love your space. I'm looking to go with a similar color scheme, but a lighter floor with grey on the walls. I'm a fan of the German cars as well. ;)

Current plan is to pick up a MaxJax lift to place where the Porsche is sitting. Ideally, I'd like the ability to rotate and operate the right column as an independent lift for motorcycle projects. That way, I can leave a motorcycle project on the lift and still park a car in the garage.
