    New lift pictures

I paid $1200 for the lift, including the anchors. 1 Saturday morning to get it physically mounted, and another day to get all the cables adjusted and power run to it. Worth every penny, and every minute spent on it.

    New lift pictures

Thanks for the kind words. I have 11'11" to the bottom of my ceiling. With a 12' lift, you should have plenty of room:thumbup:

    New lift pictures

I recently built a 32X48X12 shop at our new house, and installed a Challenger 9000lb lift. Changed the oil in the Z06 last night, and the 75 today. This sure makes it easy:smash: Here's just a random picture of the C5...

Challenger CL9 2 Post Lift Question

I recently purchased a used Challenger CL9 from a local distributor. After I installed the lift, I noticed that while raising it loaded or unloaded, the locking pawl on the idler side does not engage. It is loose and fully extended, but it appears the carriage is too far away for the pawl to...

    Door Opener on Metal Ceiling?

Wow...good eye. I have been in and out of that building hundreds of times and never noticed that. It looks like the builder forgot to finish that one, since all the others are done. I have added a piece and it is much more stable. Thanks for picking that up. Are you suggesting that the...

    Door Opener on Metal Ceiling?

Does anyone have any advice on installing a door opener to a metal ceiling? The problem is with the shape of the ceiling (I think it is called corrugated). What can I attach my rear supporting perforated angle iron to? Any suggestions and/or pictures would be great. I am heading to HD or...

    Pole Barn build pictures

Good point...I hadn't thought of that. I want to do it in something that will not be damaged by water if I choose to wash a car inside. I asked the same question. I was told that because the poles are set on a small concrete pad at the bottom of 48" holes, the frost will not affect them much...

I am near Rochester. Here are a couple of pics as of today. With the exception of adding utilities, this is how it will stay for awhile.

    Pole Barn build pictures

I have a mennonite group that is building it. It is a crew of three, that are very hard workers. The posts are laminated 6x6's ( actual dimensions are a little less because they plane them after laminating). The headers are 2x10x16'. They did not notch the posts for the headers, which I think...

    Pole Barn build pictures

I have decided on a pole barn to house my cars, and act as a general workshop. The building is 32X48X12. The build started this week. See the link below for pictures. The floor will be poured early this coming week, along with the door installation.http://mysite.verizon.net/vzew15dk/

Will 30K get me a decent shop?

I will be moving to a new home in January. The new place only has a 20X20 garage. I have a couple of vette's, and a couple of daily drivers I want to be able to store. I have a budget of 30k for a new detached garage, but I am starting to get worried that this will not get me much. I can do...

    Garage Floor Repair

New here...first post. My question: I have a 35 year old garage floor that has pretty severe pitting where the cars park. I recently hung drywall in the garage, now I want the floor to look as nice as the walls and ceiling. I need advice on how to repair the concrete so that I can do either...
