    DIY oil change VS. dealership

I'd guess due to the heat from the turbo, or improper draining from the cyl head back down thru the engine? Anyways, I haven't read all posts, but I'm surprised anyone on GJ pays someone else to change their own oil :)

Coffee you're drinking in you garage?

I'll argue, along with many others, that the french press (press pot) will make the best cup of coffee you can have.

    20% Off Coupon

I cut them out of the back of my car and motorcycle mags, heck they even come in the circular that my local electric company sends out. Keep a few in the wallet, and fifo them out. Even if it's just the $1.49 pack of micro fibers I'm getting that day, 20% is 20%.

    Old 50's work station

I think they reversed them after the government bought a majority stake? (couldn't help myself - I'm a mustang owner) Of course in my current state of build, all I see are rear bumpers of those darned LSx cars.

Coffee you're drinking in you garage?

So an air compressor revolutionized my auto / motorcycle addiction. Kind of like the day I bought a real craftsman floor jack & stands years ago and shook my head at the little pumper it replaced. The right tool always makes a difference. I like folgers, 8 o'clock, starbucks, really anything...

Building a motorcycle lift (platform) to be used with a 2 post lift

I think those wheel chocks will support the bike minus the straps... at least the Baxley ones will. Will free up some space for you to get to the engine and what not...

Need a hydraulic press like I do? On Sale thru today

I'm thinking this should probably go under 'tools' but due to the time frame, I'm throwing it here in case someone needs one like I do, more likely to see it. I've installed several sets of bearings and races now "the hard way" and after realizing the value of my recently acquired air...

I like green Snap-On, but come on...

I just threw up in my mouth a little. The best part is when they don't even get used! I do 99.9% auto/motorcycle work and use a screw driver almost never. Turn an idle screw on a carb or release a hose clamp. Sockets are where it's at for me... but i'll not be paying hundreds for blue ones...

Having a problem seating a bearing race, any tips?

Thanks for all the tips, positive and negative. I've read tons of info on doing this job, and no one has mentioned pulling the axle. It was going to be my last resort. Knowing what I know now, I could save tons of time on this job the next go-round. Gotta learn some how.

Having a problem seating a bearing race, any tips?

Sorry to leave this thread hanging. Those angles are horrible! I was going to try dry ice at a recommendation from an engineer at work. Didn't have any locally. I had left the race in the freezer over night, not sure if that helped or not. The local autozone rental bearing race driver had a...

Having a problem seating a bearing race, any tips?

It's the pinion bearing race that you see when looking straight into the open pumpkin. It's gotten me down for hours! I tried freezing the race, but that hasn't worked. It's a bit cumbersome getting into the housing to try and drive it home as well. I'm going to try both freezing the race...

I could kick myself for not buying this sooner.

Good catch! The original pump died; it was oil less. It was replaced with an oiled pump, from one of the pro models. Bolted right up.
