Stand Up if You're a Craftsman Diehard (Not the Battery...)

I recently picked up a 1/2" SK ratchet and socket set and could not believe how bad the finish was on he sockets. I have very few defects on my USA Craftsman sockets. It made me appreciate the Craftsman stuff even more. I gave away the SK set because it was that bad. I do however wish the...

    Anyone else love knipex?

My go to pliers are all Knipex. In the eighties I liked craftsman, nineties I started using Knipex and Klein. Klein have been too soft and wear out too quickly. Knipex are tough as granite and just don't break or rust. They also do not wear out and get sloppy like other pliers do. I have to...

Are you a tool hoarder ?

Like so many on this forum, I also have way more tools than I need. I also would love to pass some of this stuff down to someone who would appreciate USA made tools. With so many cheap chinese tools out there, most young people could care less about quality USA stuff.

Craftsman 1/4 Drive Ratchet Set Horrible

I work with a guy who has been a millwright for 30 years and is a ********* mechanic. I see him with his tools scattered all over and they are all older Craftsman. I asked him if he ever broke a Craftsman socket and he said no. I asked him why he never changed or upgraded his stuff over the...

What tools do you buy snap-on?

1/4", 3/8", 1/2" ratchets are great. I like dual 80 and the older non-dual 80 stuff. Don't bury yourself in debt though. There are great deals on lightly used stuff on Ebay.

    Carlyle tools

I have the 60 tooth three piece ratchet set from Napa that was $49.00. They replaced some of my newer craftsman ratchets. They do the job and seem pretty sturdy. Most Napa stores that are around me don't stock many Carlyle tools so if you break something you may need to wait a day or so to...

    My Craftsman Adventure!

I put both sets on my basement floor then proceeded to sort out the better of each set. I combined the good and bad and sold the bad. The deal also included me keeping both sets of the USA Craftsman Ratcheting wrenches. The comments on this forum about the later USA made stuff having issues...

    My Craftsman Adventure!

So like many on this site, I have been hoarding Craftsman stuff for a long time. This is a crazy story that happened to me! I found three of the USA made craftsman "540 piece" sets in clearance in a Sears store about 3 hours from my house last winter. I don't think I should give the store...
