    Reclaiming the Garage

This weekend I got to work on the garage - cleaned, prepped, and painted the first section of garage floor. Then yesterday we were already making sawdust on it building some shelves for my wife's craft room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Reclaiming the Garage

Well thanks to my dad's help (I swear it was his idea to work in my garage for father's day :headscrat), we got some more painting done. Here are the pics of before and after. We went from three different colors on the doors to one. I still need to paint the trim and put hardware back up, but...

    Reclaiming the Garage

I am hot! I mean... my outlets are hot. I officially went from three outlets with six plug ins in the garage (including the one in the ceiling for the garage door opener) to 8 quad boxes with 4 outlets each. That's right, I've now got 32 outlets in my garage and we are still not done. Should...

I understand that. It was worth a shot. Times like this will make you appreciate that truck when you do get it.

    Looking for Organizational Ideas

That's looking good! Keep up the good work. I'm enjoying watching the transformation. And for your lack of truck problem - have you ever considered buying a used trailer, using it for all these projects and hauling, and even using it for storage (if it is enclosed) and then selling it when...

    Reclaiming the Garage

Here are pics of where I left off Monday night plus what we got done last night. The electrician did get started by mounting the sub panel and most of the conduit and quad boxes on the walls. Still have a couple more wall mounts to go in and then the boxes on the ceiling for the lights. I...

    I need a workbench....

I've seen ads for maple bench tops at Woodcraft in the past. Might be worth checking out. I'm looking forward to seeing what you go with - I'll be looking at designing a new work bench myself this year

    Garage Buddies

I've got my dad. We've been swinging hammers together since I could walk. His health and eye sight have declined so he doesn't do a lot of the wrenching but he's great for ideas and an extra set of hands. We have a lot of fun together. I used to wrench on all kinds of cars and trucks every day...

    An organizing suggestion-take photos

I've already hauled off one load to the dump, mostly from the shed, but I'm still finding things to get rid of. Maybe I should try that too.

    Reclaiming the Garage

Well I finally made it back in the garage tonight. Mostly stored more things in the shed, attic, and stacked things out of the way for the electrician to start tomorrow. I'm so excited!!! Once the electrical is complete, I'll get back to the painting and finishing the floor and then the part...

    Reclaiming the Garage

You are right my friend! Thanks for the comments and I'm glad I'm not alone in this battle. One step at a time... So do you have a post going for your garage? I'd love to see it if you do.

    Reclaiming the Garage

Here is what I got done last night. Had to work late, so it's not much, but glad to finally get the air hose hung and added another retractable extension cord. One of the surface mount quad boxes will go right above that board. This is also the first sample of the gray paint color I chose.

I forgot to add - Steps #1 & #2 have been completed! Wahoo! That feels good...

    Reclaiming the Garage

Today I finished prepping the first wall and put two coats of white, semi-gloss, exterior paint on it. I used Valspar Ultra paint and primer in one. No particular reason for that brand, other than I live close to Lowe's. I also cut, primed and painted the first board that will be hung on this...

    Help with Garage layout

Congrats on the new place and good luck! It's nice to have a blank slate - lots of possibilities. I've got a similar bike rack and it took me forever to figure out how to store it. I wanted it available but also wanted it out of the way. It felt like it was always in the way. Right now I've got...

    Reclaiming the Garage

Today I tore down my work bench. It was a basic design with 4x4 legs, a shelf, and an MDF top. The most unique part was that the back legs were shorter than the front because of that concrete shelf... Has anyone else ever had to deal with anything like that in their gaarage? I plan to do...

    Reclaiming the Garage

Tonight I got both tool boxes off the ledge and onto the garage floor. Moved some things around and cleared the top of my work bench so it can be taken apart this weekend. It's getting borderline overwhelming and definitely getting messier boxing stuff up and moving it around, but I know that's...

    Stupid stuff in the garage

This was several years ago, but I was working with my friend and dad in the garage on the brakes for my 1966 Mustang fastback. It was a hot summer day and I was chugging gatorades. We had an empty bottle sitting there, so I used that to catch the brake fluid when bleeding the brakes (you already...

    Reclaiming the Garage

Here are a couple pics from last night. The first one shows the southwest corner (back wall) of the garage where the shelves used to be. The second shows the same corner with the welding table in place.
