    As for the weight I can only guess very heavy . The speed governor alone is pushing 250 lbs . I did pie cut the 2 inch angle to get the six inch radius .

    Had some time to work on the smoker. Made a place to set my beer . A nice piece of 2 inch thick alder left over from another house project. Hope to make some progress over Christmas.

    Yes , it's considerd a reverse flow smoker. There's a 1/4 " baffle plate running the length of the smoke chamber for radiant heat . Then the smoke travels back across to the stack . I do plan on motorizing the piston and governor.

    I do plan on doing something. Once I get them hinged I will step back and scratch my head and come up with something. Two hours of head scratching for every 10 minutes of work . :beer:

    Did some mock up with the speed governor. Also got some new scrap bin projects giant main bearing cap and piston , soon to be an anvil and piston carving.

    Finally got some time to work on the smoker. Started on the smokestack.

    Its an old air tank 1/4" it appears to have been hydro formed with a single seem in the center. The size is 64" ×24" . Surprisingly very little rust inside considering it was manufactured in 1959.

    Got sidetracked with a new garage toy I found on Craigslist that I couldn't pass up. All cleaned and reassembled . So back to work on the smoker.

    Not much done . Plan on working on it tomorrow. The rivets are 3/8 for the bigger ones. I am also using 1/4" and 5/16 " , you can buy different lengths

    I needed to bend some metal so cobbled this small Press Brake from the scrap bin. I Did pay $4.00 for the springs. :drink:
