Cool, I'm new to this but here is what I'm doing and so far it's been working good. Just like you I screen filter everything first, then it get's pumped with a gear pump fitted with this 10 micron filter in to a storage tank. I have a 275 gallon tank that gravity feeds to my boiler. As needed...

    Beckett AFG

Check out this site: http://ckburners.com/ Craig is extreamly knowledgeable and makes a great conversion kit. I only have about 200 gallons under my belt but I can't imagine making it work this well without his conversion. The better you filter the less you have to clean the nozzle and...

Best place to buy class A chimney?

Jackfre, It's been good but I've only had it for about 5 months. I bought it with 76K miles and now I'm at 79K. Hasn't been a great year for riding cause I'm a new dad. It's got lots of aftermarket on it and that was one of the reasons I like this one. Heated Corbin seats, Ohlins...

    what is considered a garage???

You can fill up any amount of garage space with all kinds of junk. What matters is that you have enough free space to work on whatever projects you may have, and leave a parking space for your understanding wife to park her car in the winter.

To use the local lumber yard, or the big box store...

Don't know where you're located but Siwek Lumber 952-492-6666 (Jordan, MN) has taken good care of me. Half the time when you call Dave Siwek answers the phone. They supplied the material and crew that put up my shed. Phenomenal work, material & price. Can't say enough. He has a customer for...

    Concrete and Insulation

I heat my attached garage with pex / boiler and love it. I just built a shed last fall and didn't install pex. I haven't insulated the shed yet but I do plan on it at some point. I also plan on heating it as needed. I don't do pex because I never plan on keeping it at a constaint temp out...

    DIY Garage Door Insulation

I have cheap steel insulated doors. on my garage. A 16', 9' & 8' all 8' high, so it's a lot of sqft. of area. I added the "double bubble" insulation and saw a drop in my heat bill. I was able to tuck it in with the existing insulation (it's only 1/4" thick) and where needed a used some heavy...

    Pole barn girt framing method

I paid $500 extra to do the 2x6 girts. That was the recommendation from my builder for what I was after. I've heard arguments both ways for insulation. My builder said he's opened up walls and seen the 8' wide insulation piled up on the bottom. :( I haven't insulated or finished mine yet but...

    4.5" cutting disc suggestions

Chop saw is a great suggestion. I bought a 14" chop saw about 6 years ago and that is all I use for raw material. I use the 3" cutoff and angle grinder with a cutoff for different aplications though.

    4.5" cutting disc suggestions

I use one of my angle grinders for cutting misc. steel tubing and what not. Admittedly I have been buying the cheap Menards discs. Not surprisingly I feel like I burn through them pretty quick. I guess I just don't really know who makes a good disc for a fair price. I prefer the thinner...

Honda Civic (Acura EL) Timing Belt Replacement

I have bought MANY Gates timing sets from rockauto.com. I don't want to tear something apart multipul times so I do the full deal (belt, water pump, idler & tentioner pulleys). They Gates belt kit's should have no issue lasting a full t-belt interval.

    Keypad garage entry, thoughts?

As far as the man doors go I had a keyless Kwikset deadbolt and now I have a keyless Schlage deadbolt and 2 keyless Schlage handles. I LOVE them. The Schlage units are better (all metal) construction, 10 number keys instead of 5 (on Kwikset). I'm sure they are all solid enough though, that...

What is a good depth for a workbench?

I made mine 36". It's perfect for me because I can put a toolbox or shelf along the back and still have plenty of work space.
