Tire changer and Wheel balancer combo

I found a few tricks with my WB-953 (same thing as the Weaver) Just get the wheel on there straight, and true goes a long way to getting things balanced. I turned a few cones for different applications. Mostly late model Toyota truck wheels. I measured one wheel, and it had 2 thou total run out...

Tire changer and Wheel balancer combo

I have a weaver for about 3 years (home shop) It's the 894 model. Been perfect so far.. I used the model above this one in the ranger. Worked well, bit faster bead breaker, but a little less control. Prefer the Weaver overall with the built bead blaster over the wand setup on the Ranger. Ranger...

Portable air compressor for scissor lift

I use the smallest Senco for my Quickbay 7000 Twin air locks.. The compressor is like .7 @90 psi cfm. almost never would turn on with the 1 gal tank.. If you raised and lowered it about 20/30 times it might cycle? I just leave it off for the most part. It's on the same 120 volt line as the...

Derek Weaver tire machines and balancers

Inside clamping range.. I would not want to fight stiff sidewalls to grab the outside of the rim all the time.. I just like the more options the smaller range provides overall. https://www.derekweaver.com/rodders-garage/tire-changers/weaver-w-898xs-tire-changer/#tab-documents

Derek Weaver tire machines and balancers

Just remember the 898XS will not grab smaller wheel sizes very well. The 120 volt machines take a good/ dedicated 20 amp circuit to work well. Some breakers could be a issue. I've never snapped one when in use, Just playing around with the table unloaded, it snapped a few times.. Pic of the...

Derek Weaver tire machines and balancers

I bought their W-894XS and next month will make it three years. I have used it quite a bit with zero issues. was $1249 back then. I bought a clone of their balancer at $920. 957 weaver would be the same now, although 40 MM at this point.. This one with hood..but not from Northern too.l...

INE is really good wire.. Unlike others here, had issues with L-56 . HD stuff is made in Mexico, and not the quality I remember from L-56 of the old days. I found in .030 Weldcote is excellent too..Right there with the real Esab 86

    Ranger tire machine??? advice

I notice if you have the cheaper balancers setup correctly they do a nice job.. I will challenge just about any machine under $5000 to do a better job on late model Toyota Rims/Tires. Then we can move on to Single sided Ducati rims/tires if you pass the first test.

Best type of lift for my small garage?

There is a difference between the support frame around a Quickbay and a twin Busch models.. Not that it matters that much.. The support bars, and pads are mandatory for any truck or SUV work.. Making custom pads are very handy too. Without some kind of bars your lift will rack, and ruin it...

Looking for a cheap plasma cutter...suggestions?

The key to the cheaper made china Plasma cutters are watching the duty-cycle, and arc length. Push them, and they will blow.. The newer cheaper IGBT models might be a bit better.. There is certainly a place for the cheaper stuff.. I have always liked the real PT-31XL torch, and consumables...

    Advice for a 24x36 shop

I am guessing the codes probably will not allow water without a septic.(drilling a well that is) At least it was that way for my neighbor when he build his shop many years ago (Central Oregon too)That is not even in the most regulated county out here either. (Deschutes)Might as well move/stay in...

    Whats special about compressor oil?

That is pretty good oil for smaller amounts, and works well in small compressors with cold start issues.. I've been running stuff from Pacific air stuff in my Curtis for over 20 years.. Zero carbon build up when using quality synthetic oil. Disk valves it's pretty important.. The stuff goes a...

These Remans are nice. have to add shipping.. Generally a bit nicer then the Rolair, and Senco units. Although those work fine too.. https://bigskytool.com/hitachi-ec89-hitachi-4-gallon-portable-electric-twin-stack-air-compressor-reconditioned.html
