    Racedeck versus Garagedeck -Tile Gap

I have 1500 sq ft of Garage Deck down and the gap varies all over the floor from no gap to a small gap that you can see the floor thru if you look close or directly under lights. I don't think that no gap at all is a good thing because the tiles "grow" with direct sunlight on them. Mine buck...

    It just might be a man cave . . . .

You know, I cringe too. I thought I was the only one. Lester

    GarageDeck installed

Be carefull with your lift, the casters may warp the tiles by mashing the supports underneath. Lots of pressure in a small contact patch.

does racedeck make a smooth or non coin diamond plate floor tile

I've seen mention of smooth, but don't think they advertise it. Have to call about it. Lester

    Racedeck is awesome

Once you have the hang of using a putty knife to "unlock" the tile you can have it out in about a minute or so (video on their web site about how to do it). Solid tiles, probably not much will leak through it it doesn't set there for a long time. Lester

    Torin jack stand ?

I just purchased a set of Torin 3 ton alum. flat base jack stands. Does the upright bolt to the base? The upright has threads in the bottom and the base is recessed for a bolt head, but no bolts came with it. Lester

    Race Deck vs Floor Junkies

Jeff, I didn't see where you said what you do in your shop. I would think that this might enter into your decision. Light duty stuff and you might be ok with the cheaper tiles. I have Garage Deck and it's ok to park a car on, but any lifting will require something to support the jack. I have...

RaceDeck Garage Flooring - My Classic Garage

In my opinon it scratches and mars much too easy. The surface doesn't seem to take any abuse at all. Wooden dining chair legs will scratch it as will a thumb nail raked over the surface. Anything hard embedded in a plastic caster will mar the surface and make poc marks. Lester

Disappointed In Softness Of Garage Deck

I took a close look at the caster wheels on the creeper and sure enough under the surface dirt were small bits of metal embedded in the surface. Picked out all the pieces and sanded the surface smooth. I'll soldier on for a while and see. Thanks to Jorgen for the help. Lester

Disappointed In Softness Of Garage Deck

I appreciate the suggestion to call BigFloors, but I wanted to find a solution to the maring of the surface. There are some bumps of stuff that the caster wheels have picked up and I'm sure that they are what caused the problem buy being between a caster wheel that is harder than the floor tile...

Disappointed In Softness Of Garage Deck

Maybe the Garage Deck is a softer product than the Race Deck. If so I wish I had spent the extra for it. As it is I feel like I got ripped a bit. Lester

Disappointed In Softness Of Garage Deck

I work out there most days, but on my cars. My special to me cars, 65 Cobra replica and 95 Mustang GT conv. not daily drivers. I just didn't expect the surface of the tiles to show damage with my 160lbs on a creeper rolling around under the cars. Maybe softer rubber casters would help. Lester

Disappointed In Softness Of Garage Deck

I was cleaning up from the first job after new Garage Deck install when I noticed small pock marks and scratches on the tiles where my creeper ran back and forth. Looks like the marks came from grit on the wheels of my creeper. The creeper is basic HF type creeper with the hard sort of pastic...

    My Racedeck install

My Kwik Lift with the caster option left mashed in places where the 16 casters were after two weeks of sitting with a 2400 lb car on it. Not too pleased about that, but like you I think it looks bad to have plywood squares on such a nice looking floor. I haven't decided what to do yet. Mine is...

    Race deck flooring

I put mine down with the suggested 1/2" gap to the wall and then put 1x3 down over it as a baseboard which covers the 1/2" gap completely. As I put the baseboard down I used a shim to raise the baseboard off of the racedeck just a bit. Looks good but will have to wait to see how it works out...
