    Pick a plasma cutter

I've had an Everlast plasma cutter and now have a Hypertherm. Without a doubt, the Hypertherm is a much superior machine. Cleaner cuts, the consumables last much longer and Hypertherm will stand behind their product. And, as said earlier, the Hypertherm machines have great resale values.

    Good torque wrench brand

I've had really good service from Proto. The last time I had wrenches calibrated, I sent them a 1/2" and a 1/4" wrench. I did not have a case for the 1/4" wrench, so I put a note in the package asking if I could purchase one. When the wrenches returned from calibration, Proto CS included a...

    Everlast 140 MIG

Go over to Weldingweb and read about Everlast. I personally would stick with Hobart for a good starter welder. For about $70 more than the Everlast, you could get this: http://www.hobartweldshop.com/factory-refurbished-hobart-handler-140-mig-wire-welder/

    semi deep sockets

Yes, they are. I just bought 1/4" and 3/8" semi sets in both metric and SAE and all were made in Taiwan. The finish on them is outstanding.

Sears.com hot deals and clearance thread

The "Premium" hoses with the lifetime warranty are the ones that I like. I waited until they were on sale and replaced all of my hoses with them. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-all-rubber-garden-hose-5-8-in-x/p-043W088518011003P?prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=G5

Ratchets 1/2" FINE TOOTH aand Low Profile; Armstrong 88 or...??

I have both the standard and the flex head Armstrongs in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 and love them to death. 88 teeth are more than adequate, the ratchets are tough as nails and I like the handle shapes better than Gearwrench.

    Impact socket recommendations

I have pieced together a made-in-USA Armstrong/Allen/KD set from Cripe for $1.50-$3.00 per socket. Great deal. Here is a link to one of them: http://www.cripedistributing.com/armstrong-46-619a-19mm-3-8-drive-impact-socket-6pt-usa.html
