Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

Picked these up today at a local haunt of mine. Small item was identified as a caulk scraper. Does that look right to you guys? Thanks.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I have acquired a Reed 1C vise yesterday. However, it is missing one of the swivel clamp locks. Does anyone here have that part, or make that part, that would be willing to sell me one? Thanks for the help.

    Does this vise look broken?

That's a fair statement. I guess I'm wondering if this is a highly desirable or rare vise, or a great user. Or is it a POS that's prone to breaking or has other flaws?

    Does this vise look broken?

I have a line on this vise, and I've been thinking about getting it. But today, I went to look at it with the intent of making an offer, and I noticed what looks like a possible repair on the static jaw. On the left side of the static jaw (as looked at from the handle end) next to the upper pin...

    Two new-to-me vises

I'm taking this vise apart to give it a good cleaning, and possible restore, and the threaded nut on the dynamic jaw is broken. Anyone know of a source for a replacement? Thanks

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I saw it suggested elsewhere on the vintage thread that I might post my most recent vise acquisition. Should I paint, or no paint? If I don't paint it, how do I keep it from surface rusting in the shop? Thanks for the help.

    Two new-to-me vises

Hoping the experts here can tell me something about these two vises I have acquired. The red one was given to me by my dad, as it was his dad's, and he doesn't use it. It has a partial decal on it that, I think, says Wilton. I wish it were a bullet, but still interested in approximate age and...

Vise restoration procedures, techniques, and parts acquisition...

How do you guys keep the vise lead screw and square slide from rusting? I've got a nice parker vise, but these parts rust even after I oil them. I'm thinking of heating the metal with a torch and applying a few coats of boiled linseed oil. Would this work?

let's see your craftsman block grinders

It's bad. PO smashed it, so toggle just flops side to side, but won't operate on and off. It's a McGill branded switch, but I can't find that they make it any more.

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Not sure this is the place to ask as this is my first post, but I have a craftsman block grinder model 397.19581 that has a snap-in McGill rocker on-off switch that is broken. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? Thanks
