Just out of interest I was looking into the Kobalt "sockets for life" scheme, where you can get "free" replacement sockets if you lose/damage any that you have registered.... It's free. For $4.95 shipping on each socket!!!! Most of the sockets can be bought from Lowes for less than $5...

I have a palm control, probably from the mid to late 90's... it's been used, abused (used outside roadside in UK weather) and it's still my favorite 1/2" unit.

Looking at the pic - is the stripe paint, or a decal? If it's a decal then the tape removal wheel will probably strip that as well, unless you're extremely careful/lucky with it.

These are commonly used in the UK for kitchen cabinets....

I've got an H2Pro 41" in black, and love it. It's ridiculously heavy, very thick steel. Drawers are really smooth, and not tight or loose... The only thing I don't like about it, is that you can't open the drawers with the top shut. The key locks the top, and when the top is closed, that locks...

I keep meaning to wrap the wheels on mine in rubber - something like a slice from a bike inner tube - mainly to keep the noise down when I'm dragging them around....

I use it ALL the time. It does kinda smell, but no more than any other lube really. The thing I have found is that the acetone in it soon evaporates when I leave it in the can, so if I don't use what I've made for a week or so, when I go back to it it's basically pure ATF, and I'll just add a...

Check the local "Cash Converters" type stores - if you can give them at least a few items with serial numbers or other identifiable marks, they are supposed to report the items when they arrive... Hope you get them back, or failing that an insurance pay out...:thumbup:

How well is the carpet laid? Could you take it up, store it and put it back before you leave? (Would also hide any marks)
