Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

Windows: We're thinking we'll have two windows side by side on each end up the upper story. This will mimic some of the aspects of the house itself. Electrical: Yes, it will have electricity but that will be handled by someone else. At this point I'm just trying to figure out the best way to...

    Wiring question [Detached Garage]

I know this may be different depending on the local laws, but can it be run above ground, or something that needs to be run underground?

    Wiring question [Detached Garage]

I figured this would be the case, but when I have the garage build it will cost me $40 just to have a meter on the garage itself. I was hoping the charge would be less since I already pay $40/month for service to the house. My question is could I just connect it to the power from the house...

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

That is a great price. I wish I had the time to do this myself, but with the weather in this area I need a garage up soon because I won't have the use of my old garage any longer. Do you have photos of your build online? I'd rather not use metal siding, but how much more was T 1-11 vs metal...

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

I've thought about it because that is how my current garage is setup, but this new garage will have a driveway directly in front of it.

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

I'm in Washington State. The problem is I won't have the time to erect the building myself. Did you handle all the labor yourself?

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

Not bad. If I had the time I would definitely build it myself with the help of a friend or two. Is it pretty common to always have a separate meter on a detached garage?

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

I believe a 242x24 with a 10/12 would give me approx 7' of headroom upstairs, and the room would be 12ft x 24ft. So I should have about 275-288 square ft of space.

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

I would have preferred a stud wall construction, but my budget and timeline don't really allow for me to go that route. I'm doing a pole building instead.

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

My current garage also has 29 gauge and seemed fine after 5+ years. Any benefits to using 26 gauge steel aside from more durability? I'm doing the 10/12 for a few reasons. One is my house has a 10/12 pitch roof, and I'm trying to keep the look similar to the house. I don't live out on the...

Having a new garage built. 22x24x9 10/12. Few Questions.

Bought another house and we move in at the end of the week. Problem is there is no garage, so it's time to build one. After reading numerous threads on this forum I've decided to just go with a pole building. I really don't like the look of it, but the budget for what I want would cost too much...

    Permit Denied !!!!!

I look forward to hearing how this turns out. I ran into all kinds of problems with the garage I had built with this house. I'm in the process of doing it all over again with a "new" house.
