    Fabrication Table

Thoughts on this table top? It’s (3) 12”x24” plates that are 3/4” thick for a work area of 36”x24”. The aluminum base is machined to allow the plates to be screwed down and made perfectly level. https://fireballtool.com/products/table-topper-36x24

    5/8 hole template

Me and my buddy built a little table last year. It’s 5 x 5 with 3/4 inch plate steel and 1/4” legs. It weighs just a little north of 1000#. Never really understood all the holes in these fabrication tables until I saw my buddy use one. I would definitely like to get some holes in my table but...

Roll up garage door seal is working for me….

I have not done that yet. More than likely what I’ll do is get one of those plastic pieces. I forgot what they are called but they use them in walk-in freezers and warehouses. It’s a piece of thin rubber flexible material. you can get them in whatever width you want by whatever length you need...

Roll up garage door seal is working for me….

For those who have a rollup door and are looking to “seal” the sides., see videos below. Yes, I know you can buy the brushes that you screw to the outside of the building and cost about $100 per door. In my case for two doors, it would’ve been about $190. I went to my local fabric shop and...

Have you ever wondered is a radiant barrier is worth it?

PM me your email and Ill send you a video of my dilemma with radiant barrier and 2" foam board. I installed both. Had a 2.5" air gap between radiant barrier and siding, the ceiling had a little more air gap. Then foam board attached directly to radiant barrier. After it was up for a few weeks I...

Can someone confirm these #'s for a beam?

So no bracing is required on the base to keep the column from moving? Yes I have a welder and I’ll be doing it myself. I’m no professional, but I feel confident in my Welds.

Can someone confirm these #'s for a beam?

The column against the wall is sitting on the concrete footer and it's about 16" thick X 12" wide. The other column is sitting on 6" of concrete. Both baseplates are secured to the concrete with 5/8" threaded rod and is epoxied 6-7" deep. Below is a pic of how I anticipate securing the column to...

Can someone confirm these #'s for a beam?

The beam should only show having 1000lbs on it. Yes, a trolley will be on the beam. Pic is when garage was first built. Other pic is how I intend to brace the column.
