They definitely had some kind of flat additive in them. They actually cleaned up pretty good. Estates are not fun, especially if you are the executor. Dads estate was very large in items, not necessarily in value.

I spent this last weekend building beam anchor plates for the new garage from 1/2 scrap plate that came with the place.

Sounds like a trip to the new HGR is order. They had tons of industrial chargers last time I went. As far a the job goes remember you are the one with the technical skills. I suspect the ******* manager has none, they never do. Edit: I see I jumped in too late with the HGR. The job part...

Since I got back I have been working on the garage project, shown earlier. I also put the new tires on my loader that I bought many months ago. I like doing tires by hand, it requires skill and technique rather than brute force do do them right. I also built tires for the diesel mower project...

Sorry been kind of AWOL for awhile. I am still dealing with my dad's estate so I made 2 trips to South Dakota since I last posted. I think things are finally worked out so I can wrap that up, the less said about it the better. When I was home in Sept/Oct we reorganized the big storage...

Running electrical ~200ft from Transformer to Barn

The only drawback to two services is two meter charges. The economic model that utilities run on is going away from consumption charges to raising meter charges. The norm in the future will be something like $100 per meter + usage + time of use charges, more if commercial. So if you run off...

I had a 1991 F150 that the paint all fell off when it was a year old. The manditory paint reformulations made for some really bad paint adhesion back then.

I did a kind of fun little project for my wife's birthday present. I bought this 100ft retractable hose reel from Vevor and built a quick little movable stand with some junk I had laying around. No close-ups of my welding will be provided.

I just spent the week at my dad's place in South Dakota. Had to do some estate stuff, which sucked, but I spent the rest of the week working in the salvage yard which is my happy place. Got all of the mowing done and worked on the inventory. It was fun spending time with my extended family...

Thanks for jumping in Bob, those are amazing photos! I had never even heard of this park until we were assigned it as a stop as a suprise challenge. We had to slide down the dunes on video. I borrowed a sled from a little kid who was in the park, there is a entire cottage industry of business...

I moved everything over to the patio under some shade trees and cleaned up and painted the wheels. I used Krylon fushion all-in-one paint/primer. I've never tried it before so we'll see how well it turns out. I wiped them down with acetone first.

I need to get this Bronco of the lift so I have at least one bay to work out of at home so today is tire day. I have a ratty old set of 10.31-50 15s to put on. I also need to clean and paint the original Wagon wheels. Each one has at least one broken bolt where the center cap bolts so I will...

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

Went to an estate sale out in the country just a few miles from my place. Lots of Asian tools but I was able to dig out some good stuff. Spent $45 total, paid what he asked. Prices were very fair.
