I have a set of the polished Craftsman reversibles - no complaints here.

I have used them in 3 stores here with no problems. True that in one store the department manger asked me to use no more than one per day, but the others just scan them in and ring up the sale.

Yeah those are pretty sweet. I swore by the older style fine tooth round head ratchets, (catalog order only), 20 years of use and they were almost indestructible. If the new ones are anywhere near as good as those were I will be happy.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I have never had an SK ratchet act like that, but then again I had never experienced a similar C-man failure before. Broken ratchets for sure, but not a defect in the housing.

Now that I finally found the relevant pics I can comment intelligently. The repair kit will probably do little if anything for the conditions described. I experienced similar problems with the 44833, and after close examination found the culprit to be a slightly off center ratchet direction...
