Carrier/Bryant circuit board question - Any HVAC techs able to help?

It probably varies with the manufacturer. One place that sells replacement motors wanted the part numbers from the OEM motor. Not sure if there's really "programming" rather than matching drivers/firmware. I'm sure that somewhere out there, the motor needs to be "programmed" or otherwise...

Carrier/Bryant circuit board question - Any HVAC techs able to help?

There are companies that sell replacement ECM motors (i.e.: not OEM). If I found sources online, so I'm sure that you can too. Or put in a regular motor for now.

Carrier/Bryant circuit board question - Any HVAC techs able to help?

Ah, the old bait and switch. It's "in stock" until after the payment is made, then it's "not in stock", and the merchant NEVER gives a refund as quickly as they took the money when you clicked buy it now.

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

The HX tubes in the video are rusted out on the weld seam, and the tubes are not stainless steel, and not sure how easy it would be to order one with a stainless heat exchanger (of course, someone would have to pay for it). There is the condensation issue in summer due to the design of these...

Carrier/Bryant circuit board question - Any HVAC techs able to help?

If you are giving them the furnace model and serial number, and they are giving you a part number to order... Just make sure it is returnable.

Next guess is fuel pressure issues. Internet search answers mostly point to fuel pressure issues. Or heat exchanger defects.

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

Finally looked at the video. That's s "gas pack" or commercial style rooftop unit. That is not common in my area for residential installations. However, as a commercial unit, there's lots of them. Those are ****** designs because the air goes over the evaporator first and the possibility of...

Combustion analyzer or by eye? Combustion air from outside, spacing meets code?

    Where is it measuring?

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

And I've caught stuff with an analyzer on a furnace that otherwise "appears to be operating normally". The cost of the test equipment probably has everything to do with why it is done, or not.

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

Just happened yesterday. Someone that doesn't believe in preventive maintenance, furnace heat exchanger is bad. Probably would have been caught a year or two ago with a combustion analyzer, rather than the limit switch tripping.

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

It isn't limited to startups or fly by night operators. The big billboard companies do it. It is done to get someone to the house to sell something. Two are offering "no breakdown guarantees", at least that's what is advertised. Not sure what the fine print is, but I really doubt that the...

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

Not sure about which ones do or don't, but at least some of them are self calibrating due to the sensor design. You would have to do your own research. Then there is the training in how to actually use the tool correctly.

    Seasonal furnace maintenance

I'm calling ******** on this. In addition to other things, the exhaust needs to be checked with a combustion analyzer. That is the most important thing.

Unhappy with new HVAC. WAY too loud!

Ah. But the people qualified to do this seem to be limited. Then, the people willing to pay for it are even more limited. Even where I am currently employed, the owner believes in "bigger is better" with no regard for the ductwork. Then the issues start shortly after the stuff is turned on.

6" x 48" combination belt and 12" disc sander options?

Looks like the price has gone up, off of the "holiday" sales. Oh well, need more welding practice anyways at this point.

Unhappy with new HVAC. WAY too loud!

*IF* the problem is the right amount of air and not enough ductwork, then duct sealing will make the problem worse. Keep in mind that the old permanent split capacitor motor was not capable of delivering the right airflow if the system TESP was too high. I would guess than most do not know just...

The only thing I see there is **** work, and don't even really know what is happening there. Would be interesting to see the outside.

Unhappy with new HVAC. WAY too loud!

For a typical residential job, in my experience, noisy registers are a result of ductwork problems. The ductwork has to be big enough to carry the airflow, but there also needs to be a certain number and size of openings in the ductwork to each space. But it's super easy and not rocket...
