If Snap on is not over-priced,

The "cost" of a tool covers many things: production, qc, marketing, distribution, service and economies of scale. Snap-On has quality tools distributed through (IMO) inefficient channels. Inefficient from the manufacturer perspective not the consumers, to the consumer a truck at the door is...

    What is Snap On doing????

If the right combination of vendor distribution channel and manufacturer could be arranged, DeWalt and many other companies would leverage their name and reputation i.e. Duralast Tools | Kawasaki Tools. With all the mergers and acquisitions, many times the manufacturer or vendor has a known...

    What is Snap On doing????

Snap-On seems to be “licensing”, for lack of a better word, their name and trademark to various companies to distribute a range of products including LED lights, gloves and etc. through normal mass marketing chains like Ace. I would guess they are just getting a royalty fee from AllTrade. But I...

Survey with Prize - What Interior Socket Color?

I voted that is does not matter to me. Overall finish and tool feel are what I usually notice; however, to me the champagne does appear to be less finished than the silver. I am not an industrial tool user; however, I own a few Armstrong tools (along with about a half dozen other brands).

Maybe you can tell me what this tool is.

I was working on a barn last year... 18' in the air. I used a T-bevel to get an angle and then handed it to my 15 year old nephew. Climbed down to see him "playing" with it :shocking:. On the up side, he learned how to use a T-bevel 18' in the air :spit:.

    Pegboard Vs Tool Box

I use both... I have a small pegboard over a four foot bench that has a set of screwdrivers and other often used small hand tools. I also have an eight foot section that holds handsaws, framing hammers, squares, levels and extension cords. My other hand tools are in tool boxes or in their...

    GearWrench Survey

I voted never. I use a 6 pt. box end wrench to break fasteners loose. I was under the impression that ratcheting wrenches should not be used in that manner. If that is not true, I would probably use them more often.

Need ebay advice, Bought a beat ratchet

FYIW, looser is misspelled. It should be loser. Which is defined as "someone or something that is marked by consistently or thoroughly bad quality, performance, etc.: Don't bother to see that film, it's a real loser." [Dictionary.com] I guess they do not cover that in med school.

    Tool Poll

Voted No... Mostly Craftsman with other brands thrown in... Snap-On, MAC, Old Husky, Gear Wrench, Stanley. Like others have said, my favorite ratchet is a long handle Snap-On. But to be fair, I should probably buy other long handle ratchets from Proto, Craftsman etc. to be positive. Yeah that...

    Stupid box question...

Can you post a picture of and describe the slide catch?
  20. K

    Stupid box question...

There is usually a catch in the slide that needs to be pushed in or pushed down while the drawer is being pulled out. Directions are usually a good idea also.
