    Can you teach woodworking?

If that is what you want to hear, sure. I am worse than the dog **** you step in. Your probably right, as most everyone else hates me just as bad as you do.

    Can you teach woodworking?

Have you gone to the thread where everyone laughs at customer cars and spoken up? Back on track, he's not doing it to get good at it, hes doing it because he thinks hes going to make a ton of money off of it. Never gotten any credit for giving him unlimited shop use, giving him free wood, or...

    Can you teach woodworking?

Ok, I'll show him a 3000 dollar table and tell him to build it. That way he knows what he is building is right.

Building Exterior Corbels - What wood to use?

Nobody has mentioned black locust yet. Harder than oak, and rot resistant with ground contact for 75 years, without contact much longer. It will outlast PT.

Got this at a yard sale last summer for $5. Anyone recognize it? No markings. I suspect it is an import.

Here's another thing that I built a little while back. It's a black birch? live edge shelf. Since I didn't have any black birch apart from the one piece, I made the bottom part out of oak to try to match it up. For those interested in black birch...

Did a little more organizing as well. This area looked like hell. Moved the red box and a mouse scurried. Now I have the ancient shop vac hooked up to the band saw, and found new homes for some of the others.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. Tonight I did as much as I could on the huge cutting board that a guy hired me to build. More difficult as it can't be planed as a complete unit. 30 by 18 by 1.5.

I've found sawing your own trunks is the best way to avoid paying $40 per board, as long as you don't mind waiting for them to dry. Never done an end grain board before. I would imagine the wood selection would be more limited as particularly porous woods would want to be avoided.

Thanks for the tip! Currently I have vacuums hooked up to a lot of the machines, but they unfortunately don't get everything. I got the C20 when I was 15. It was my first rig. I attached the cow skull a couple of weeks ago to make it look like a ranch truck.

    My (Updated) Shop

Over the summer I did a lot of dumpster diving. I found a German bayonet from WW1. Today I decided to make a plaque to display it on. Made it out of IPE. Got most everything done. Tomorrow I am going to do a few finishing touches and add finish to it. What do you think? For those interested in...
