    My 45' X 30' pole barn

I thought I'd post a status. I've got half of the OSB up on the walls and about 20' of loft done.

    My 45' X 30' pole barn

These pics were more of the enormous tree trunk I got rid of and not the shed, but you can see the shed in the background. As soon as I get my sub panel finished (today I hope), I'll put some pics of the wiring job and the front of the shed.

    My 45' X 30' pole barn

The main reason I chose open versus closed was price. Comparable closed cell would have been about $1000 more. They guy that did the foam said that in his experience the vapor penetration was negligible and I wouldn't have to worry about it. I'm putting OSB on all the walls and am not...

    My 45' X 30' pole barn

It cost me roughly $3500 for the insulation & I think about $300 or so for them to paint the top half white.

    My 45' X 30' pole barn

No pics before, the guy we bought it from put the building up. I do have some outside pics I'll throw up when I get home.

    My 45' X 30' pole barn

Here are some post insulation pictures. The top half (above 8') was painted white. The bottom 8' is the natural color of the insulation. I'll be covering the bottom 8' with 1/2" OSB.

    My 45' X 30' pole barn

We just moved into a new (to us) house July 1st and with it came a 45' X 30' Morton pole barn. Over the past few weeks I've been installing horizontal studs and rewiring the entire building to support its future use. Yesterday I had open-cell spray foam installed throughout the building. I...

    Radiant Tube Heaters

rmack898, Which model did you go with, where did you place it, and does it heat the areas not directly underneath the tube well? Thanks!

    Radiant Tube Heaters

I have the same questions. I have a 45X30X14(peak) pole barn that has foam insulation throughout and was hoping to get by with a 10' U shaped 50K radiant heater in the middle of the peak, but wanted to know if I'd have good heat coverage on the ends with only 10' of tube.

Is it stupid to install 2 heaters instead of 1?

timgr & HoosierBuddy, thanks for pointing out the venting issue. I'm going to go with a vented heater now. I think I can get by with 1 10' vented natural gas radiant tube heater hung from the middle of my shop. Any recommendations?

Is it stupid to install 2 heaters instead of 1?

rodm1 - shed was here when we purchased the house, so I can't tell ya how good the build went. I'm happy with it, but I've only owned it for 2 months so take that with a grain of salt. I also went from a dinky 2 car garage to this so my expectations are pretty low!

Is it stupid to install 2 heaters instead of 1?

I have a 45X30 Morton pole barn that I am about to heat and for cost reasons am leaning towards 2 MH40NG's instead of 1 larger tube heater (10' or 20'). I can get 80K BTU for $600 with the MH40NGs versus approx. 40K - 50K with a tube option. Good decision or bad decision?
