    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

I have many videos to edit of the construction, had a few medical appointments and procedures slowing me down. But I should have more time to update everyone when the weather forces me hibernate for the winter. Structure is up, many videos to make, and pictures to post. But my old destroyed...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

Sorry I'm used to Reddit where every update is a new post, if it's not a new post nobody knows about the update or looks at it. I have less than 50 replies and posts total, not sure what is proper etiquette.🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Stopped using Facebook few years ago, never used Twitter, Instagram, TikTok...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

No, absolutely not! I had to use LOTS of old random plastic political signs duck taped together as a "tent" over the blocks while it poured just a few hours after the pour. We had to go slow as ameture DIY project, we'd mix just enough to fill a couple blocks at a time, plus I have a lifting...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

2 years ago I had my foundation expanded to maximize allowable square footage in my area: 840SQ/FT (24x35). Thursday they demolished the old garage and I learned the existing foundation was poorly done without rebar or concrete from the footer to the block. Only the holes with anchor bolts had...

Hydraulic Fluid spill from the contractor?

I I knew there were risks when I started college, my wife has the Firefighters prayer on a Dog Tag. At least I'm being taken care of after the 3 workplace injuries.🍻 They (I) have a General Contractor and the company owner. But the GC is busy with multiple sites, and the other only stops by...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

I actually had my insurance agent out to take pictures of my furnace (approve that), and increase my coverage. If I didn't increase my coverage back in 2020 all detached buildings from 10x10 sheds to a full barn that didn't have additional coverage; would only get 10% the house valve payout!😳 My...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

How do I do that, I don't post very often. Is there a special procedure, or just add hyperlinks? If just hyperlinks in the first post on down here at the bottom?

When life got you down, it keeps kicking, foundation problems!😖

I was guessing that would have been ~$5K for an emergency call for: Rebar down into the footings. Replace the bad blocks. Rebar the corners. Mortar the joints. Fill with concrete. Float any areas that are not level. New sill plate lag bolts.

I've got a daily videos of the rebuild in the 800-1,200 sub currently.👍 I do have a Fire Detector (135°F not smoke/partials) for the future garage already, and a special relay that is triggered by that detectors interconnect wire. Which will setoff a commercial 6in Red Strobe Light and 6in Red...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

Sprinklers are most likely out of my abilities and budget. But I do have a Fire Detector for the garage, and a special relay that is triggered by that detectors interconnect wire. Which will setoff a commercial 6in Red Strobe Light and 6in Red Fire Bell I'll have mounted outside above the door...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

I'm 100% certain that is when the electric wires melted just before that circuit breaker tripped. Unfortunately that fed the fire a large amount of fresh air and it started to burn much hotter and faster just before the Fire Department arrived. I live in a great neighborhood, our kids play...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

I'm 90% certain it was the hidden electrical junction boxes inside the wall above the electrical panel from before we purchased the home. The Fire Marshal was here for less than 20 minutes, because their was no injuries or suspected crime, they didn't put any effort into an investigation.🫤 My 5...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

This garage burned up in 2020, a long ~6 hour night inferno before anyone noticed, because it was; fully insulated, finished interior, HVAC, and no windows. After ~6 hours it started to burn through the front wall by the access door (fast time lapse video of that fire). Long wait after the...

Hydraulic Fluid spill from the contractor?

I agree, all the contractors I've dealt (roofing, plumbing, concrete, electrical, HVAC) with have a smooth talking sales rep to make get the job. But the site lead is just the senior day laborer, they work fast and assume it's not their money. When they are costing the company in materials or...

Hydraulic Fluid spill from the contractor?

I'm not always at home, or medically available to babysit them all day. I have health problems that restrict what I can do and how often I have to go back to the doctor or treatments. I a medically retired Firefighter Paramedic lost 1/3 of my lung after 9/11, then had some lifting injuries that...

Hydraulic Fluid spill from the contractor?

During the demolition of the old garage their Kubota Mini Excavator failed. It had something break that allowed it to bleed hydraulic fluid to its death. Now I have a large puddle of hydraulic fluid on my garage pad, a small puddle on my driveway, a streak of fluid across the driveway to the...

When life got you down, it keeps kicking, foundation problems!😖

2020 garage fire completely destroyed. But I wanted to get my garage rebuilt Contractors had dozen excuses: Can't work, stay at home orders. We laid off our staff, try call again next year. We're only accepting easy indoor bathroom kitchen remodels. Our staff took the pandemic checks and quit...

4ft of storage, or garage door up against the ceiling?

Building a New garage it will have a 16x8 front garage door, and a passthrough 9x7 door in the rear. It's going to be 24ft x 35ft with ~12ft ceilings and a 36in access door next to the 16ft door. I plan on building 4x4 storage sections along the sides. But...? Should I run extra track and run...

    New generator question

Start it and test off the grid before you don't have any chance of warranty or customer service! The Generac style generators do a weekly run test to ensure they have enough battery voltage to start, no errors, and can run the house circuits without problems; before shutting down until next...
