    My build in progress

Here is the first pour on my driveway. It was 10 yards and is 26' wide. I had enough saved up to do the entire driveway but 12 days after I got back from Iraq my home heat pump went out. Guess where my driveway money went :( I had a little left over so I decided to go ahead and at least pour the...

    My build in progress

Holy old thread batman. I just got back from my (Iraq)deployment in August. I'll be adding a few more pics in the days to come. I've since poured the first 10 yards of the driveway, finished the siding and am doing finish work on the inside. This has been a big project for me to do by myself...

This is my first time working with vynil siding. Got my buddy to come over and give me a 30 minute lesson and off I went. Its going slow but I'm...

who has delayed their garage build due to economy?

No one but you can make the decision to pull the trigger. I know its tough. I started my 28x32 detached last August but I had already planned to do %90 of the work myself. I was able to save some on materials. Good thing too cause it turns out I dont know how to properly estimate materials...

    My build in progress

Edited 7 October to add pictures/updated progress. Just found the site through another member and  love it. I'm in the middle of a detached 32Wx28D shop. I'm doing this on a (USAF) StaffSgt budget so I have to do the work myself or I couldnt afford it. Aside from putting the shingles...

    Good time to build!

Every little bit helps. I started my detached garage project late August. I'm doing all the work my self so while its been slow going, its fun to see it come along and lumber has dropped since I began. FWIW, 1/2" OSB is $5.65 a sheet here last time I checked. Studs are under 2 bucks now.
