    Sealer for PVC

So I have my Norsk flooring installed. No vehicle traffic yet as there is still work to be done. Is there any kind of sealer that needs to be applied to this type of flooring?

Think I am going to start my flooring today

I pretty much ran the tile to the inside edge of the door then placed the beveled edge. I have an over sized seal on the door but the beveled pieces are completely covered by the seal. The tiles cut very easily with a sharp utility knife as well as heavy duty siding shears. Sent from my...

Think I am going to start my flooring today

All in all I am very happy with my Norsk PVC tiles. Everything went together pretty well. They aren’t too noisy and the fact that they are very flexible really worked with the uneven floor. Somehow I miscalculated the tile quantity though. I had plenty of tiles but ended up with 3 boxes of the...

Think I am going to start my flooring today

Definitely installs fast and easy. I do have a question though. When I get to the beveled trim under the door should I put a bead of silicone or some other adhesive sealer as a precaution? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Think I am going to start my flooring today

Well to say the least I am way behind schedule on my garage renovation project. I was sidelined in January when a pipe in the house froze and burst flooding the basement. Throw in 2 months of reconstruction for that alone with general life duties and here we are. These things have been...

Running a wire through cold air return

The reason it is not allowed has less to do with smoke and more to do with fire. If the wire would short and spark ignition of a fire within the cold air return the return would act as a chimney and allow for the rapid spread of flames through the floor and or wall cavities.

Liftmaster 8500 - Motion Activated Lights?

I have the 8500 and tossed the light kit. Don't like the look of it. I have my garage lights on an occupancy sensor. They come on when the door opens and are waaay brighter.

    Got a new door but...

here is the full door. The door sits in a little farther than the old one. I did a high lift set up and a jackshaft opener.

    Got a new door but...

Part of the issue is that they were installed when it was 15 degrees outside. The second part is I had to go with an oversized bottom seal because the floor is not flat. Because of that the door sits a little higher than normal causing the top pvc to sit along the profile of the raised panels...

    Got a new door but...

I am not real happy with the pvc seals around the jamb. Anyone using brush seals instead? or should I try to make a tighter seal with the PVC?

How to prevent draft from side exit bathroom fan?

Typically there is a damper (plastic flap) on the fan exhaust. When you vent through the wall you will use a vent like a dryer vent termination.

    Dividing a pole building

For a long wall like that I would do a 6" steel studs 16" centers since it is likely that your ceiling height is greater than 8'. 24" centers would require fewer studs but now you are up to 5/8" sheetrock. It all really depends on how you want it finished out. If you are talking about covering...

    Hanging U.S. Flag in Garage

If I were hanging it in my garage I would make an enclosed case for it since I make a lot of dust.
