24K BTU Pioneer Mini Split - Diamante Ultra vs Inverter ++

The efficiency at low temps is what you look at, Heating to -13 but HPSF may be higher for one than the other. Also from what I have observed even though it is supposedly a efficiency number, the higher HPSF ones seem to perform better in in super cold . Never compared electric bills though.

24K BTU Pioneer Mini Split - Diamante Ultra vs Inverter ++

I think the Ultra may be claiming to be better in colder outside temps, Also the Ultra I am pretty sure is also an inverter, don't know why they didn't mention it however it is pretty much an understood thing. Someone might fill us in on the exceptions.

Another "Sub panel in the Shed" thread

Framing a small shed could be a very good idea, I agree. Gotta share this. In a move I wanted my compressor running before I got my detached garage built. I put the compressor in a 12x16 2x4 metal siding shed with 2x8 floor joists covered in 1' plywood flooring. Did a subpanel etc. When I...

Just make sure you have the same wire on same terminal number on both ends, the colors don't matter.

    Mini Split Condenser Location

With great trepidation because of stuff I read and my own intuition based on a lot of mechanical engineering experience I mounted 18k Senville condenser 6' off the ground onto my 2x4 vinyl sided shop and there is no sound transmission. I have to put my ear to the wall to even know if it is...

MrCool 18K Mini split wiring help

Something screwy about that manual. #8 would run a monster AC. I have 2 different 18k mini's hyper heat units, on 12ga and 15 amp breakers. I meant to use 20 amp breakers but had 15s when I installed and started using expecting the 15s to trip. Now, six years running. never a trip so I never...

Need guidance on 2002 Silverado air conditing

Good point, - - somewhere along the line I started making sure the cap is a good seal, using ones with an o-ring. Pretty sure no leak there so maybe that is why it is now holding. But a 21 years old system with over 200K miles is going to leak soon.

Need guidance on 2002 Silverado air conditing

I have a 2003 dodge diesel, that the ac has always worked but around 2016 it started icing up (low refrigerant), So in a hurry one day I added about half a can of 134a, with no gages, expecting to have to add some from time to time, but it turned in to a every 2 years kind of thing. But this has...

3 years later, hollow sounding areas under my 24x26 monolithic pour.

Is there a trade name or something I can use for finding these " rocky/muddy slurry" guys?

3 years later, hollow sounding areas under my 24x26 monolithic pour.

Flowable grout hits my fancy since I am willing to try just spot applications. Using spot aspplictions I need it to be more incompressible than foam. Even in spot applications the foam will help and might just keep it from caving on some sudden loading of some kind like dropping secrete from...

3 years later, hollow sounding areas under my 24x26 monolithic pour.

I did drill one half inch hole and indeed there is a small air gap, as much as on half inch in one direction from the hole. I have done nothing, and the floor still has that hollow sound. No cracks are appearing anywhere except a hairline at the door thresh hold at the saw mark. I think the...

Using electrical whip to connect Generator input box to meter panel on outdoor post?

Not a concern, just don't do this kind of thing every day but old enough to know it is pretty easy to start making assumptions and do stupid stuff. I haven't seen many poles with as much stuff on a meter pole like mine and I only see solid PVC or metal conduit as i recall them. In the next few...

Using electrical whip to connect Generator input box to meter panel on outdoor post?

My meter panel is mounted on a 8"x8" post behind my garage. There is a 120V outlet on that post feed from a GFCI breaker in the panel. There are also some boxes, from the internet cable on the post also a surge protector. The problem is I want to hook up to a generator input box to an...

Mr. Cool 18k wiring double check

I couldn't sort out all the information back when I did my first minisplit install. When all was ready and I still did not have a breaker, i put in a 15 amp that I had and it started running OK so I continued to shop for the correct breaker, I think i was shopping for "mythical" 25A but bought a...

HVAC Industry Insanity (at least in my area)

Amen. Had the same experience in Huntsville, Ala 17 years ago and after over-the-top experiences with locals to get my air going again, I just dove in and studied it out. Since then, I have saved 3 of my children from the same nightmare. Moved to KY and thought I would give the locals a shot...

Running Honda eu7000is in insulated 24x36 garage?

Sorry about the ruckus caused by my misuse of the term backfeed. I latched onto that term somehow with the idea that it simply referred to feeding power into my house by some other means then the power company inlet. Of course there are stupid and dangerous ways to do that just like there are...

SOOW cable ok for outdoor generator hookup?

Thanks, it is temporary power outage kind of thing but might be left outdoors quite a bit. So I would like to know that it will stand up to outside conditions like powering a RV that is being lived in for a few months and the like. Is there a better choice? I am not familiar with the various...

Running Honda eu7000is in insulated 24x36 garage?

All the responses appreciated. I will be more careful of back feeding terminology. Around places I have been it just meant any means of plugging generator in some part of the house other than at the main panel. It would be called back feeding even though the main breaker is turned off. The...
