For the paint in the tag, a razor blade across the surface, a small dental pick to get some of the paint out of the letters, or a dremel with a little wire wheel. The paint on this a old boxes is not great, so it should come off with a little persuasion.

    Living WITHOUT Tools!

I second your comments! We hit estate sales all the time, my wife likes to sew (another dying skill) and I hit the dens, garages and sheds. Rich folks garsges=nothing but a musty set of golf clubs, maybe a set of junk screwdrivers or novelty tools(Snakelight anyone??). The best sales I've been...

    Air hammer conundrum..

Hi all, sorry it took so long to report back. I sent my junker air hammer to Snap On Aug 8 and got it back on the 11th. Funny thing is that they didn't send back the one they sent me. I'm guessing they assembled on out parts as the serial number on the handle is not the same. My first...

You're the dirty dog that snatched it up! I was home sick with this never-ending sinus/cold and saw the ad. I took a nap and when I woke back it was marked sold. Hope the tools are a decent score, I didn't need another tool box, but I like the treasures old boxes like that can hold. Btw...

Fender covers, what do you recommend?

Retired beach towels, and fitted bed sheets for me. I use some big binder paper clips to hold them on. The old fender covers I have are so gross I wouldn't want lean on them for fear of getting scuzzy. The towels and sheets were gonna get tossed anyway,so I call it recycling.. Sent from my...

used snap on sockets would you buy or not?

For me, if the chrome is missing or the drive ends are hogged out from being beat on with an impact wrench, then I have no problem with engraved/used tools. All my Snap on ratchets are marked, so I call them, Dave, Francis Kenny, Wooster.. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

    Snap On KR537C

No worries, you've got plenty of drawers to experiment with so no big deal. Just de-grease and try something if that doesn't work. I did all kind of stuff but settled on the wax. It's working for me, I moved my hand tools to my old Snap Ons, so I'm in and out of it regularly. Sent from my...

    Air hammer conundrum..

I poked around last night and I think I will be good with these. I think if I have one running, I will never wear it out. Thankfully I live in the south now and cars and tools are hobbies for me. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

I didn't get pics but pulled the barrel off of one with the functioning trigger. O rings are shot, and those barrels are tighter than hell! Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

    Air hammer conundrum..

I'm going to send one in for repair, if I get some more bucks in the tool fund I will get the other re habbed. They cost me 4 bucks at an estate sale so I figure that I will have enough air hammers to last me the rest of my life! Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

    Air hammer conundrum..

Thanks for the replies, I spoke to Snap on , gave the serial numbers and I got a quote for 116.00 for a re-build. I should be getting a UPS label in the old email soon. I may tear the other unit down for grins, but I really think for me this will work out fine. I sure won't ever wear it out...

    Air hammer conundrum..

Quick change Chuck works, so for my 4 dollar investment I was a happy camper from that. Not hung up on the name, but I'd like to have one working just for laughs. I may get another used hammer off of Fleabay just to stock up. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

    Universal Impact Sockets

I've had this set for a few months now, they are nice tools for a good price. The blow molded case is even pretty nice. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

    Snap On KR537C

After the slides and box are cleaned and de-greased, go to the grocery store and hit up the canning section. There should be a product called canning wax. They just big square bars of paraffin wax. Take the wax bar and rub it vigorously on the drawer slides and that's it. Grease and oils will...

Are the Old Vintage Snap-On ratchets worth picking up??

I have a couple 1/4 drive gov't contract ratchets that were in a box with something else at a yard sale. They're neat, fairly smooth and in nice shape but I've used them exactly never. I've got other ratchets I like better so they are tucked away in my odds and ends drawer. I say if you see them...

    Air hammer conundrum..

Yeah I've been checking the Fleabay now I have these. I will check the Snap On prices for a re build, if it's even feasible due to the age or if I have 2 fancy door stops. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

Interesting.. I guess I'll check on that. If I can get one fixed for around that it would be cool. Hell, I may get both fixed and never buy another air hammer Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
