    3/8s ratchet length opinion

FHLF80, I love mine. As Fedwrench said, I think you need all different types of ratchets for different applications, but there is always that "go-to" ratchet. I have been favoring my F80 recently..

    Snap on Student Discount

go to the snap-on website, and register for the program at the bottom of the page. It will have a list of schools available from what I remember. that 2411 is only $2200 through the program, but I would also recommend getting tools instead of a box.

    Ratchets/snapon,armstrong,Williams

Well, one reason to get a high tooth count 1/2" ratchet is because with a longer ratchet in a tight spot, you want a ratchet with a low swing arc... Personally I am hooked on Dual80s. Havent tried a Matco88 but I am sure it is just as smooth.

Are "good" die grinders that much better than cheap ones?

my die grinder, cut-off wheel, 3/8" air dril, and air sander are all the Dura-Block brand from Farm and Fleet, I bought them all on sale. Die grinder was $10, Cut-off wheel was $11, sander $13, drill $18. They seem to work just fine. The air drill trigger is touchy though, not real sensative...

    1/4 drive epiphany....

head bolts with a 1/4" drive ratchet.... :spit: If the impact cant move them out comes the 1/2" drive breaker bar. I doubt you are strong enough to remove anything torqued over 25 ft/lb with a little 1/4" drive ratchet. A water pump? dont even bother, just use your 3/8" ratchet or breaker bar...

HF wrenches are being upgraded to a new, higher quality version soon

I figured they would be upgrading their wrench department, my only problem with most socket sets they offer is the lack of complete sets. the quality should be respectable, just as their sockets and ratchets have turned out to be
