1/4 torque wrench uses (inch lbs)

Most of your smaller nuts and bolts on smaller equipment use inch pounds. If you got the extra money to buy, it's worth having it.

Snap-on warranty.. Not what i thought.. a little disappointing.

That snap on guy is a total tool to say that. So what if you bought it from a different guy because you worked somewhere else or the snap on guy before him. That means he has the right to not warranty the item. If that's the case tell him to **** off and don't buy anything else from him.

Does any one know of a good San Francisco Bay Area machine shop to cut brake rotors?

Most machine shops will machine flywheels. As for rotors go, forget it. They make them so thin now they usually cannot be cut. That's why they warp so easy. That is also why they're so cheap now a days. I just put rotors on with every brake job.

    Cheap Starter Torque Wrench List

All my torque wrench a are matco. My 1/2 and 3/8 measure in foot pounds and my 1/4 is inch pounds. Personally I would not go cheap on something like this. You could look on Craigslist and probably find a snap on, Mac or matco pretty cheap

Snap-on ran a credit line on a $100 ratchet? Is that the normal compared to matco/mac

This is a crazy world now. 20 years ago I remember at times having a 1,000.00 balance on the snap on truck and that was just to him. No snap on credit or anything else. I guess times have changed. Our guy was good, had what we needed or got it fast and even when guys left they told him where...

    Why Snap-On?

I started working on cars and trucks back in 1990 and was using craftsman tools my dad gave me. After a while I started buying snap on and what sold me was when he left me a #2 Phillips screw driver. As silly as it sounds I was shocked that he wanted 90.00 for a set of screw drivers and...

For 350. That seems like a decent deal. When those were new they were almost 1300.00. They're built very well

    Removing coolant hoses advice.

Jose the hose pick of a pair of channel locks to break the hose free. Make sure the coolant is drained and if you have gone that far you may as well out new coolant in and change the hoses and clamps too.

    compressor opinons

Keep an eye on Craigslist. For that money you can buy a bigger and better compressor. For the same price you can go to menards and get a 60 gallon sanbourn. Don't rush to buy one. Do your homework. I bought a husky from Home Depot and the motor didn't last a year and of course the warranty was...

Q for the Auto Mechanics here: Best Oil Filter? and worst? and what does dealer use?

Use the OEM filter. Some cars like the Mini if you don't use the factory filter put the system in bypass mode and and causes running issues. My brother learned the hard way with this.
