Makes sense. I guess as Ford said "You can get a car in any color you like as long as it's black!" Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Wow thanks for all the great information! Going to be doing a lot of Googling for sure. Would love to restore this one and the Reed I bought yesterday. Can I ask when you paint them what resource do you use to determine the historically accurate color of the vise and pin down an approximate...

    For caliper slide pins?

Actually I apologise. I deal with Kraydon here in the states as well and could get it from them. Didn't see they stocked it. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk

    For caliper slide pins?

Checked an industrial vendor I use from the UK. I could order you some if you want to pay shipping from me to you. Assuming you're in the states. I'll just get them to comp me some on my next order. It looks interesting! Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk

    Best 1/2" cordless impact wrench

I bought one of these Makitas. Hasn't let me down though it's strained a few times. Though it's huge and heavy and tough to fit in tight spaces. Especially with a 4.5ah battery. I also just picked this Kolbalt 3/8 up yesterday for tighter areas. Haven't tried it yet. I'm on the fence with it...

    For caliper slide pins?

Last time I did mine I used the 3M silicone paste. I use it as an electrical engineer for Dielectric grease but it works amazing fur slide pins, and keeping the rubber boots and caliper piston seals lubricated and protected. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk

Thanks kindly. Does anybody know of a reference that has information about maintaining and restoring vises I'm on Tapatalk and it doesn't seem like the stickies are showing in each Forum so maybe it's there and I'm just missing it. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
