    Tools of Japan

I'd be curious to hear how plugs went with the Tone tools. I used my Nepros tools on my BRZ, and it wasn't too bad. I loosened the engine mounts and raised the engine a few inches on each side to increase access. I loaned the tools to a buddy with a FRS and he said the worked well and he...

What a disappointment. I hope there will be a way to order from iTools in the future!

Looks like prices on the nepros.net site just went up a little. I ordered a few weeks ago, and the items I got cost a few bucks more now.

    Does cost REALLY dictate quality?

Different people have different priorities. If all you see in an object is "utility", your definition of value is utility divided by cost. Some people place value in other aspects of a purchase. Availability, country of origin, manufacturing ethos, brand image, collecting, etc.

What's the tool situation in Japan?

Does anyone know of a good tool shop in Nagoya? My first trip to Japan was in December for a business trip, and I will likely be going back sometime this year. Visiting a tool store would be fun, since I am a fan of Nepros and Koken stuff.

Long metric combination wrenches and 1/4" drive semi-deep sockets were just added to nepros.net. Of course they added long combo wrenches after I bought a SK set... I recently bought the 1/2" drive, 90-tooth, long ratchet and some sockets. It's all so nice!

I used EMS. I did not see any way to select another option. The shipping quote was not provided at the time I placed the order. As I recall, it was included when they sent the email to pay using PayPal.

    Tools of Japan

I picked up a 19mm Koken wheel nut socket (pictured center, 4300M-110). It is extra long which helps with hand clearance between the car and breaker bar. I was using the Nepros 19mm deep socket before, and the extra length of this specialty socket is nice. I also got the Koken 1/2" 600mm...

I picked up a set of Vessel screwdrivers a few months ago. Haven't used them yet (or any tools for that matter... still too cold in the garage). The set is "3010PS Ultra Non-Slip Grip Screwdriver Set (10pcs) with Case". I've heard good things about Vessel, and the price was right. They seem...

I got my two Nepros tools today. I ordered Friday night, KTC shipped them from Japan on Monday night, and DHL got them to me in less than 48 hours. Not bad for $10 shipping. These are definitely the nicest looking tools I've seen. I'll use them soon when I change to my winter wheels and...

That's awesome, thanks for sharing. I'd love to have that set in the trunk of my BRZ! I ordered the 10mm flare nut wrench aka "brake pipe wrench" and a 1/2" drive 19mm deep socket for lug nuts from Nepros.net. I should be able to use both soon when I prepare my car for the winter. I actually...
