    6 Point Whitworth Socket Set

From memory the metric head Whitworth thread bolts were probably Britpart supplied for Land Rover series. I buy all the BSF bolts I need now for Blackstone Engines from Balls Fasteners, in cap head instead of hex head.

    6 Point Whitworth Socket Set

Another thing to mention to really muddle things up is recently a couple of hex headed Whitworth / BSF bolts I have purchased have actually had metric hex heads, presumably as Whitworth sized hex stock is harder to come by.

Snap On Hard to Hard Handle Swapping

I have removed hard handles from Snap On ratchets with boiling water - they were brand new ratchets that I got cheap as they were an unpopular colour (titanium grey). I clamped the ratchets in a vice with alloy jaws and used my hands to yank them off. They were a lot harder to remove than the...

    Snap-On prybar handle

Just looked at the online catalog and I do like the new handle, and they’ve finally updated the 3/4” head to Dual 80, about 15 years late! I’ve never known the prybar handles to be replaceable separatly.

Need a recommendation for brake line flaring kit

Correct, it is a copy of the Sykes Pickavant 270 flaring tool which in the UK is the best flaring tool available. I’ve tried everything over the years and the SP270 is the only tool which consistently flares correctly, I’d imagine the Eastwood would do a similar job.

Do we have a favorite grease gun?

In the UK the John Deere branded pistol grip grease guns are totally different, they are top quality units made in Germany (I believe by MATO), and currently my favourite gun out of the many I have used over the years

Do we have a favorite grease gun?

Wanner. Antique. Nothing else comes close for lack of capacity. Surprised they still make them at all being self loading and if they still haven’t redesigned them to take cartridges and not having to feed that greasy chain back in the chamber then they don’t deserve to sell any at all.

Do we have a favorite grease gun?

I have two Macnaught’s I purchased ten years ago on the promise that they were the best grease gun in the world. with both of them the spring loaded plunger doesn’t seem to seal against the tube perfectly, resulting in grease migrating to the low pressure side and giving the impression that it...

Battery impact wrench for a guy who hates power tools?

I have had the DTW300 since it’s release a few years ago, it is perfect for all automotive work that I have required it to do, and replaces an older DTW285 as I wanted a bit more power (DTW285 was aimed at the scaffold erection market). I do have a Milwaukee M12 3/8 ratchet I do use too, as...
