    RaceDeck and motorcycle kickstands

I have 18 inch diamond pattern RD. My HD Street Glide kickstand will mar the RD because the kickstand moves as the weight of the bike increases on the kickstand.

    Question on Racedeck Tiles Expansion

If you'll let the tiles heat up in the summer sun, then install, they shouldn't raise up...installing the tiles while they are at their maximum expansion is the key.

    Question on Racedeck Tiles Expansion

My tiles will raise up at the garage door when exposed to direct sun. Best bet is to install in the summer and leave tiles in direct sunlight for a few hrs before install.

    RaceDeck and motorcycle kickstands

No engine heat issues, but you'll want to use something under the kickstand to keep it from marring the floor. I use one of the HD kickstand pads.

    Concrete coating mistake

Just remember a lifetime contract is only as good as the man standing behind it. Get him to correct it now...he may be out of business or have moved on if the floor fails later.

    Painting Racedeck Flooring?

    No, no, no...

    Choice of tiles

Your RaceDeck will not be slippery (I have the diamond plate pattern). However, your kickstand will mar the tile. I use a kickstand disc under my Harley.

    What to put under Racedeck

I used landscape felt from Lowes, but put down two layers, which cut down on the hollow sound considerably. I wash my car in the garage, so I left that area without any underlayment.

Cutting RaceDeck Free Flow and Edge placement question

Table saw was so much easier. If you don't have one, consider renting one. Regarding the tile edge strip at the garage door....I set my edge so the garage door makes contact with the edge and overlaps about an inch. You don't want the edge sticking out so far that it can be seen from outside...

    Racedeck around support beam

I had to place RD tiles around my water filter. No big deal, measure several times for accuratcy. If I recall, I used cardboard to make a draft, then used the draft to mark the tile before cutting.

    Cutting RaceDeck tiles

I tried several different saws. Found a table saw with a standard wood blade worked best, mainly because I could use the fence to ensure straight cuts. Also, the blade cut well. My mitre saw didn't cut the RD that well (might have worked if I had a fine toothed mitre blade). I used a jig saw...

Plastic tiles and scuffing? (Motorcycle kick stands etc)

I've placed heavy items (on casters) on my RD and it did indent the tiles; however, after I moved the item, the intention went away on a day or two. I'm guessing if you had a kickstand slide on any surface it will leave a scuff.

Plastic tiles and scuffing? (Motorcycle kick stands etc)

My RD will scuff if my Harley kickstand slides on the tile. I just make sure I have a kickstand pad under the kickstand.

    Cleaning RaceDeck

My wife bought a new floor steamer (cleans the floor with steam through a cloth pad) for the house and I took the old one for the garage. Worked great on cleaning my RaceDeck. Thought I'd pass this along to fellow RD owners. The old one came from Wal Mart and couldn't have cost more than $50.

Which is best? Epoxy - SwissTrax - RaceDeck?

RaceDeck or Swiss Trax? That's like asking "Chevy or Ford." RaceDeck is plastic and it will scratch if you drag something sharp or rough over it...but any plastic tile will do that. White is going to be very hard to keep clean. I have red and silver RD with a dark gray border. The silver...

    Which Flooring (Poll)

I went with RaceDeck due to ease of installation. Also liked the ability to develop my own pattern vs. epoxy. Didn't go with epoxy due to the prep, time involved and those DIY horror stories. Didn't consider ceramic or porc. tiles due to the longer install time. If making the decision today...

    Race deck problem

I've caused indentions with my RD, but after a day or two they popped back out and you can't tell now. No discoloration either.

Designs with VCT (which of the following do you like?)

I like the standard checkerboard (#1) because it's classic and will not go out of style. Since this is a large garage, I'd make my squares 24x24 rather than 12x12...just a personal preference. You can see what 24x24 looks like on the RaceDeck site.
