    Garage Bathroom with Shower

I started with just wanting a toilet and a sink, but after really thinking about it I figured if I'm running the water and sewer I may as well go all out so I did. I figured even If I don't use all the facilities right away the hookups are there just in case. Let me tell you, while some may...

    outdoor ceiling fans

This hunter fan is under the gazebo on our pool deck, 6 years old and still looks like new. Blades are made of plastic and the only thing I do is wipe them off every spring when opening the pool. Fan was under $200.

    Shingle fell out of place?

Push them back in place, then lift the tabs and re nail UNDER the tabs being care not to place nails in the slots. Then lift the tabs and use some roof sealant under them to make sure they don't just blow up again.

    Super cheap floor cover.

The sink is a commercial dog tub, I have poodles and poodle mixes (all rescues) and I groom them myself. Also I have about 2 acres so add that mud time and the pool and my dogs get frequent baths. We got really tired of the mess in the house so when we added the bathroom to the garage we...

    Need A New Pool Deck

I couldn't imagine trying to cover the pool with the deck al, the way around, I have a 4' walking deacon that leads to the big deck on the back and that's a big enough pain. Lol That aside this is what I did, like I said the "path" is about 4' wide and the back deck is 14x22. Half of it is...

Not sure if any of you are into other hobbies but I spent a few hours in the garage last nice working on my Falcon. 😁

    Pellet stoves are amazimg!

not strange really, that's one of the benefits of a pellet stove. Say you want it on your main floor living room you can vent it horizontally instead of trying to figure out how to get it vented through a second story. Also that is why we gave the battery backup, the odds of losing power are...

    Pellet stoves are amazimg!

If you lose power and the stove can no longer drop pellets or power the exhaust fan then yes you can get smoke. However if your stove is vented UP the smoke will gravity feed up like any other chimney. If you direct vent out the back horizontallly then you have the chance of a little snake...

    Pellet stoves are amazimg!

Ours has a built in battery backup, I unplugged the stove once to see how long it would last and it stayed on for about three hours. Anything after that my generator would be running.

    Super cheap floor cover.

Was at the dollar store with the wife and they had rubber backed carpet squares for $1 each, bought all they had. Lol They worked out perfectly for the garage bathroom floor, originally I wanted to leave it bare concrete but after only one year of people coming in from the pool and my dogs the...

    Pellet stoves are amazimg!

This is our fifth winter heating our home with our pellet stove, and the benefits far outweigh the negatives IMO. For years I had a wood burning stove and the work involved with heating our home with that compared to pellets is pretty significant. Just cleaning out the stove every morning was...

What’s is Harbor Freight’s price match policy?

I just went there yesterday with the same exact situation. I bought one of the Yukon rolling cabinets about three weeks ago for $239, all I had to do was give them the phone number on my "account" and they gave me the difference back. Didn't even have my receipt.

For those with bathrooms/water in their detached...

We are hitting single digits here at night and not much better during the day. Since my bathroom is completely insulated and finished, including the two inside walls I have decided to just turn the shop heat down to 40 and close the bathroom door and keep its heater at 55. Been checking it and...

New shop water and electric under slab

All I wanted was a sink in my garage but after really thinking about it I ended up with a sink, toilet, shower, washer and dryer and a commercial dog tub. Best decision ever, so imo even if you don't plan on using anything now it's MUCH easier to rough it all in before the slab goes in...

For those with bathrooms/water in their detached...

i don't have any water lines in exterior walls, all are run under the slab and come up where needed, shower, toilet sink etc. but I still don't want to have to fix anything because of pipes freezing. I did place a thermometer in the bathroom and it seems to stay at 40 or above no matter where...

Is your bathroom insulated? We even insulated the interior walls thinking that it would be cheaper to heat just the bathroom instead of the whole shop. But like I said I keep the shop at 43 so I'm thinking I shouldn't have to heat the bathroom separately. But again I'm not sure, lol.
