Exactly. I don’t think this feeling was expressed or understood based on some of the responses. Like I am getting quotes from multiple places. I just posted the outrageous one for shits and giggles. Like I’m paying someone to do the job no matter what.

Yeah, my thoughts. I’m genuinely shocked by some of the replies and how invested people are in their opinions.

I never heard of Tuxedo. He suggested it as a “quality” lift and I took his word for it. After a quick research, and other vendors I knew my decision. It’s what they had and what they wanted to sell.

This wasn’t the case with other vendors I called today. I just posted this specific one because it was outrageous compared to others.

This wasn’t a small shop. This was someone trying to make the payment on his Escalade he showed up driving…

There are things that I want to do, then I do it. If I don’t want to do it, I pay someone else. This is one of the later situations.

I know I could do it. I’d rather have someone professional install this.

I get that. But this was one of those “garage improvement” places , like a one stop shop. They apparently have high margins and try and clearly take advantage of people. After getting other quotes I’ve confirmed this.

The whole point for this lift is to do some more DIY and restore my father’s old C10. Pray that my son has some interest and teach him a few things. I just don’t feel comfortable putting up the lift nor have people near by to as about helping out. I’m fine paying $10k and it is what I really...

The hard part would be finding the guys haha. I live a pretty secluded life and don’t even have one friend I’d be comfortable asking to come help.

I’m well aware of cost of living and where I live. It’s just the fact that this is a $2,400 lift. Like that’s crazy money for install. I just got multiple quotes for different higher quality brands for less.

For comparison, I just got a quote for a Challenger lift for LESS than the Tuxedo brand. I’m fine paying people, as long as the rate makes sense. The first quote was just outrageous. And I didn’t even have to mention the rate I received to get what I felt was a much more honest rate.

Hehe updated The first post with more details. No site prep and even the wiring has already been run.

New floor with 16” 4x4 footers in a monolith pour. Two post 9K lift that retails for $2,500 for the lift. Wiring is already run so all they need to do is wiring from the junction box.

Just had a local garage shop quote me almost $10K for a tuxedo lift installed… like seriously who would pay that?! Location Fairfax VA area New slab with footers 2 post 9K loft that retails for about $2,500

I’ve had enough professionals they’ll me the joint isn’t an issue given the large amount of footers under the joint. I’ll have it filled with epoxy and use longer anchors.
