He saved it from scrap, but after a while realized he wasn't going to do anything to it anytime soon so he gave it to me for what little cash he paid for it. Its all there except for the three phase motor that was on it when he got it. Anyone here have an idea on its approximate year?

Posted pics of the vise I got years ago...my son and I just mounted it on the bench after we stripped it and refinished it! Before and after... Not sure what decade it's from...but hopefully it will last many more now.

It looks more than a year old. The lines between the striking head and handle mount are each unique. Nothing is symmetrical.

Cleaning up a pile of concrete between our firehouse and an old building...I found this Vaughan hammer head at the bottom of the pile. Anyone have an idea how old this hammer head is? I'll clean it up, give it a new handle and it'll swing once more.

That is a great vise and a beautiful clean up and repaint! You really did a nice job. With the overhead cabinet, it looks like that guy takes up all of the room!

Thank you! I would like to restore it authentic. Yours looks good. I would like a darker or even grey color, and I think the black/grey color would look awesome! But judging from what you said, I dont think my vise fits into the black/grey time frame, but rather the red. I'll have to think about...
