Of the three only Monument still makes tools in England these days, good quality and not expensive, link below...

2024 Garage Sale Thread (13th Annual)

Went to the local bootsale here in England, had a bit of a rummage and came out with these from different sellers, but oddly all the tools were a £1 ($1.26) a pop! A scrub up later and here we are: Record No4 G-clamp, King **** (!) 3” adjustable spanner, Dolmar chainsaw file handle, Fisco 10...

2024 Garage Sale Thread (13th Annual)

Buyers definitely are after quality items this side of the water too - bargains are quality tools with unknown names (Facom, NWS etc) or forgotten names (Bedford, Elliot Lucas, Gordon etc) obvious quality names never make it to the sales - Snap-on and the like would head straight to eBay. Most...

2024 Garage Sale Thread (13th Annual)

Greetings all the way from merry England. Today I wasn’t on shift, and was doing errands, one of which took me past a midweek car boot sale. Flea markets are “car boot sales” over here, boot being a trunk! Secateurs and hose spray triggers were old shop stock German Gardena at £5/$6.25 each...

    Show your new tool arrivals

When you go in to order a new motor, some seals and a few consumable service parts….. and yes you can guess the rest! 9 years is fair life for a pressure washer I guess. New one works well, felt guilty getting it filthy!

    2023 Garage Sale Thread

I think this is my first post in this thread, and as vulgar as it sounds @bluebolt YOU ****! I reckon the old timer that bequeathed the Bandit shed to your care would get a kick out the rifling through and a group a hawkers on the internet getting a huge kick out it, keep it coming 👍

    British Tool Manufacturers

I had a rather early frantic phone call as the mother in law had a burst pipe. Rushed round without tools (lucky I was off shift today too!) and had to rifle through her shed for tools. Stumbled on this blinder, a 10” King ****, it did the trick too!

    Britool (Made in England) thread

Elliot lucas were not something you’d spot in a run of the mill hardwear/DIY chain, but sister brand Eclipse above seemed to be everywhere, and still is fairly prominent, if not to the sane quality of old - the other Neill brands tended to be specialist retailers or in the tool boxes of...

    Britool (Made in England) thread

New from the stores, August 1991 - however when British Railways purchased them is anyones guess! The grips are still pliable and not degrading either, but the length did encourage you to use them as shears on cable far too big for the intended use 🤠 used through my HV contracting days too...

    Britool (Made in England) thread

@Farmer J. I’ve had these Elliot Lucas pliers since I was issued them in 1991, regularly used, regularly oiled - still as stiff as they were new 😁 To avoid thread drift and steer this back to its lane here's a draw of BSW Britool (right side) and metric King **** (left side) all from that...

    Britool (Made in England) thread

Just brushed the dust of this -3/8th Britool torque wrench, which *I think* is a post Facom takeover one. Its not seen a lot of use as I bought it about 15 years ago just as my main tool became a desk! I didn’t pay much (£30?) I bought it off a trader selling loads of old/surplus stock. Any...
